There are many different types of eczema. Two of which are called :
Contact Eczema & Atopic Eczema
1. Contact EczemaDevelops on people who have sensitive skin and are sensitive to particular irritants, such as wool, nylon clothing( try 100% cotton material), metal, make up, detergents, a range of different chemicals or even sun light may be a trigger, as well as some foods.
2. Atopic Eczema
Often affects people with a history of asthma, hay-fever, or hives (also known as urticaria or nettle rash ) in the family. Baby Eczema is often diagnosed as Atopic Eczema, fortunately many infants and children do grow out of it.
In both types of Eczema the Symptoms are the same. They include redness of the skin, severe itching, pinhead sized blisters that may weep, along with dry flaking skin. A doctor should be consulted by anyone with any type of Eczema symptoms for Eczema Treatment diagnosis.
Statistics have shown that there is some evidence that suggests that Eczema - Atopic Eczema is linked to a food allergy in as many as half of reported cases . Even more where the sufferers are children who have Baby Eczema.
Eczema & Allergies
The importance of the triggers between Eczema and allergies is still a topic yet to be discovered, however facts have shown that suspected foods may include Milk, cheese, cream, yoghurt, margarine spreads (try Nuttelex ) etc. Other foods may include fish, shellfish, wheat, tomatoes, nuts, yeast and certain additives. It isn't wise to eliminate such foods completely from your diet without consulting a Doctor or Dietician for Eczema Treatment diagnosis first as you may be excluding sources of important vitamins and minerals that your body needs to keep healthy and active in your daily life. After consulting a doctor/dietitian, reintroduce the foods slowly back into your diet one by one that you have eliminated from your diet. If the Eczema returns there is a good chance that you have just found or at least narrowed down your Eczema trigger.
Baby Eczema
Some babies develop Eczema when their mother ceases to breast feed, and introduces Formula milk into the babies diet. This may be a sign that the Infant may have an intolerance to cow's milk and could develop Baby Eczema.
