Introducing the Eden Project
The Eden Project is Cornwall's most iconic attraction, holding the distinction of being the world's "largest greenhouse". It is also a tourist attraction that is unique within a pretty strong field of contenders locally.
Eden is more than a visitor attraction; it is a vision. The idea behind Eden is that it is an educational experience, offering an insight into the ecology of different climates to our own and offering a tangible understanding of how much of our food finds its way to our plates.
The two "Biomes" at Eden are the "Humid" and "Temperate" biomes. The Humid biome is truly massive with thriving trees, a river and waterfall and everything from miniature rice paddies to cocoa and banana trees.
The Temperate biome is more Mediterranean in feel and though smaller than the humid biome, it has a very wide range of plant species and scents.

Whats New at Eden
Things to see and do at Eden
From the early days, Eden was conceived as a good venue for live events and a small arena was incorporated into the design. In no time at all the "Eden Sessions" that run during the summer months have become very popular attracting prominent names in the music business across many music genre including, for 2008, the Kaiser Chiefs and KT Tunstall.
An Eden sessions ticket is exceptional value as it includes a day admission to the Eden Project as well as an evening's entertainment. There can be few better places (and I speak from experience) to watch your favourite act then at Eden with the Biomes, illuminated at night, as a spectacular backdrop. If the weather turns "a bit damp" the Eden shop sells cheap ponchos so you can keep relatively dry and still enjoy the event if, as I was, you are overly optimistic about the weather.
Christmas at Eden has become a highlight for young and old over the past years with the project running a themed season of events in the run up to Christmas and the New Year including converting the performance arena into a temporary ice rink.

Evolution of a Cornish Clay Pit is an exhibition of work by artist Anthony Eyton. His artwork charts the "evolution" of the Eden Project from an empty clay pit to the stunning attraction it is today. The exhibition is included in the price of a standard ticket and runs until next year.Eden Project moves into "harvest" mode in Autumn as it celebrates the Global Garden Harvest. Many useful events and demonstrations on how best to preserve crops and what to do with your own bumper harvest.
Halloween at Eden is an exciting time and the half term week is packed with spooky events and activities including story telling and the start of the ice skating season with a spooky themed ice rink. On the 30th and 31st there is a family evening event - the popular Little Monster's Ball for which advanced booking is strongly recommended.
