1958 Edsel Bermuda - Rare One-Year Station Wagon

Ranked #4,738 in Cars, #243,026 overall

Wood panels and tailfins trademarks of this collectible station wagon

The Edsel Bermuda is a bit of an automotive rarity: a station wagon that is both rare and sought-after as a collectible. It was only made for one year - 1958, and it was made by Edsel, a company that had waning popularity at the time.

The Edsel Bermuda was considered an ugly behemoth by most during the time it sat on dealer lots, but many car collectors today see it as a thing of beauty. It was BIG, but it also had all sorts of features that make it the classic family vacation vehicle. Contoured wood paneling was available, and even with the station wagon rear it still had room for what could be considered tailfins.

Since these station wagons were purchased by families who usually drove them until the wheels fell off, very few survived. Edsels in general have seen an amazing comeback in the collector market, and these big station wagons are no exception. Also, finding Edsel Bermuda parts might be just as difficult as finding the original car in restorable condition.

Unfortunately, some of these station wagons are rotting away in a junkyard
