Founded by Ali Hewson and Bono
Edun was founded on the idea to have a socially conscious business model. The clothing lines are produced in African countries with extreme poverty. By bringing business to Africa, they hope to increase the income of the locals and reduce poverty.
The Edun design is Art Nouveau, usually with flower imprints. Wherever possibly, Edun clothing is made out of organic material.
The mission

Bono, and his wife Ali, are both known for their compassion and their will to fight poverty.
Edun's mission isn't one of charity. Charity is good to some point, but what truly helps people in poverty is the ability to do something about it on their own, and that's Edun's mision statement.
Using ethical conditions, work terms and products, Edun creates fabulous designs. As a result, Edun is not charity, it's a for profit business.
Besides the trade they bring to Africa, Edun is also a showcase for other fasion companies to do more business in Africa.
The main lines of Edun obviously feature dresses, skirts, tops, t-shirts. But some other items are available too like handbags (or regular bags), pendants, scarves and some lingerie.
