Effetre Glass Rods (formerly known as Moretti)

Effetre is a high qualilty glass pulled into rods (and also crushed into frit) and is made in Italy.  Lampwork Glass artists use Moretti glass to make beads, sculptures, and other objects.

Effetre is a "soft" glass and has a lower melting point than "hard" glass such as Pyrex.

No, these aren't lollipops! It is easier to see the true color of a rod (especially transparent glass) if it has been melted and pressed. A round rod can be a little difficult to photograph, and some colors actually change in the flame, so it is advantageous to see this lollipop-shaped end of a glass rod.
