Introducing Eflo Ltd.
Waste water treatment systems from Eflo offer a range of functions to meet a very broad set of circumstances. Managing water for discharge after industrial processes is a significant expense. Pre-treating water prior to discharge can significantly reduce the municipal costs as the quality of water being discharged is significantly better.
The importance of managing domestic sewage is self-evident. Increasingly, though, technology is moving beyond merely managing it to recycling and re-using grey waste water (washing up and bath water) to be used in toilet cisterns. This significantly reduces the water use of domestic properties and is doubly useful when applied to countries where water is a scarce and valuable commodity. Eflo have developed specialist technologies for grey water recycling.
An additional area of expertise for Eflo is marine. Ship board treatment and recycling of water is both important and technically demanding. The equipment is subject to conditions harsher than those found on land whilst space in any vessel is at a premium. Eflo have developed a range of products specifically for the marine sector.

Grey Water Management
Filtration and recycling of domestic grey water
Grey Water ManagementThe majority of waste water, in terms of volume is grey water from showers, baths and kitchens (including washing machines). The idea that recycling grey water is easy is a misconception that many fall foul of. Grey water, though far more benign than "black" sewage, still contains a wide range of particle types that require filtration. The presence of oily substances, too, must be thoroughly dealt with before the water can be re-used.
Though this type of recycled water will not be drinking or cooking quality it still requires a very high standard of treatment. As a practical matter it must appear as clear as drinking water and be free of odour to be at all useful in a domestic setting.
Large particles are removed through settling filtration. Electro coagulation further removes oily particles, tints etc and produces a sludge that is easily removed. Further filtration and Sodium Hydrochloride dosing is the final stage in getting the water back to reusable quality.

Marine
MarineEflo's marine range has been developed over considerable time to be leading products in the field. Many processes have been tried and tested in shore based applications. The technology has been adapted and made thoroughly robust to provide a reliable constant transfer submerged aerated filter process.

Membrane Bio Filters (MBR)
Membrane Biological Reactors (MBR)The maximum improvement in water technology comes from a membrane bioreactor system. This achieves water re-use quality discharge with particle removal of 99.7%. The benefits of MBR processing, aside from the end quality, is that it does not require separate settlement tanks as is the case with other systems. A high flow rate is combined with a relatively small plant.
