First What is EFT ?
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques.
EFT was created by Gary Craig in the mid 1990s, and is meant to be a the simplification and improvement of Roger Callahan's Thought Field Therapy techniques. Craig trained with Callahan in the early 1990s. In 1993, Craig was the first person Callahan trained in his most advanced procedure, a proprietary procedure known as Voice Technology. Craig found through his experience that the sequence of tapping points did not matter and that special proprietary procedures were therefore unnecessary, so by the mid 1990s he had simplified Callahan's procedures.

Next What I Did to Get Rid of my Dentist Phobia
and how I found the EFT Technique
All my adult life I feared dentists. Nothing special about that since when I was a child I had several teeth removed and I fainted every time the anesthesia started to work. So I also have a Needle Phobia.
Now I had been able to control the fear for many years but suddenly after a dentist visit, where the pain was almost unbearable I developed a panic attack alike state.
Something had to be done before my next visit.
I did what most people who are reading this would do: did a Google search for anxiety+dentist however the correct term is Dental Phobia.
Next was I decided for hypnosis, that was before I heard the price was $160 and maybe one treatment wasn't enough.
Self hypnosis was then what I would do, I did not succeed very well in that area. I was already in a state of extreme fear.
So I called a good friend of mine who is a NLP practitioner. She told me to do relaxation exercises twice every day and then do the self hypnosis exercises.
I felt much better after 3 days but not really convinced I was cured, so I did a new search and found EFT or tapping techniques. The best for me was Magnus and his tapping (see below for his great video).
The felling after 2 days with tapping was great. The question was, would it last for my next visit at the dentist? Yes I was calm before during and after, and I wasn't the slightest tired afterwards as I used to be.
I also found several great sites with free information about EFT.

Further down the lens I have included links to informative sites about EFT.

- Ive always been afraid of going to a dentist since I was a kid. I just don't like the atmosphere and most especially the pain that I felt every time I've had some dental procedures. Not until when I got older that I really now enjoy going to some of my dentists (Atlanta) for in they have better dental procedures and staff as well. And I now have my own family dentist (Atlanta) for me and my family for us to have better oral health.

- Great topic! I love hearing about people learning EFT. So wonderful that you are helping others to find it as well. I personally use it to help people increase their self esteem, and to help sufferers of PTSD. (not to mention weight loss, anger issues, back pain, abundance mindset etc. there's nothing you can't use EFT for)
