WELCOME TO EGADS IT'S EEYORE!
Let's face it, there would be nobody to cry in your beer, rain on your parade, or weep "woe is me" and snuffle in your handkerchief, that's what!
"Good morning Mary Sunshine" may be on the lips of every the optimist, but pessimists prefer precipitation and pity pots thank you. And, if misery loves company, then there's probably no better Gloomy Gus to have around than A.A. Milne's beloved yet bemusing, bumbling beast, affectionately known as "Eeyore".

Eeyore of Ennui Sends You Glum Greetings

You're always on my mind...except when I'm looking for my lost tail of course!
A SUCK-IT-UP SENSATION!
"Eeyore" is a character in a very popular children's book by A.A. Milne called, "Winnie-the-Poo".More precisely, "Eeyore" is a chronlogically-gifted, grey-haired, merry-challenged mule, technically known as Equus asinus.
Though able to read and write (only simple things), although his spelling and poetry composition leave a lot to be desired.
His biggest claim to fame is the fact that he's a little short in the self-esteem department. Not surprisingly one of his best known habits is misplacing his long tail which he is rather fond of which is only attached to him by a small nail that keeps slipping out. Missing tails do come in handy however as a bell-pull for Owl's front door.
Eeyore is a persistent personality who's willing to pitch in and help when asked, and willing to rebuild his house of sticks every time it has fallen down, been knocked down or been bounced upon.
While professional psychologists suggest that "Eeyore" may suffer from the sad-sack syndrome known as "dysthymic disorder" which can be attributed to a traumatic amputation of his tail leading to psycho-social environmental problems, (most notably, the challenge of finding him suitable accommodation).
On the other hand, members of the International People of the Pen Society suggest that he also embodies a mixture of pessimism, stoicism, sarcasm and cynicism, all qualities common to the stereotypical British character, (in other words, a real hero in the eyes of "stiff upper lip" folks).
Americans, bless their hearts, have always portrayed "Eeyore" as a loyal beast of burden, who despite his depressive nature, is a compassionate creature. (Some have speculated that perhaps their fondness for the "donkey" is due to their fondness for the Democratic political party, whose mascot is a melancholic mirthless mule).

Our happy-challenged hero!

EEYORE'S LITTLE BOOK OF GLOOM

Eeyore is pleasing pessimist living in a joy-filled optimist's world because he, more than any other cartoon character, is in a "No Exit" situation...(like most of us when venture up a creek without a paddle or a practical-joking Pooh to tell us what to do)!
You seem so sad, Eeyore."
"Sad? Why should I be sad? It's my birthday. The happiest day of the year."
"Your birthday?" said Pooh in great surprise.
"Of course it is. Can't you see? Look at all the presents I've had."
He waved a foot from side to side.
"Look at the birthday cake. Candles and pink sugar."
Pooh looked - first to the right and then to the left.
"Presents?" said Pooh. "Birthday cake?" said Pooh. "Where?"
"Can't you see them?"
"No," said Pooh.
"Neither can I," said Eeyore. "Joke," he explained. "Ha Ha."
Wisdom and wit from a wonky donkey!

This writing business. Pencils and what-not. Over-rated if you ask me. Silly stuff. Nothing in it. -- Winnie-The-PoohNo Give and Take. No Exchange of Thought. WEATHER FORECAST FOR TODAY...Cloudy with meatballs?

They say that "behind every cloud there's a silver lining" ... well, it'll be just my luck that today the gods decide it's time to rain cats and dogs on Donkey's Day.
WHAT CAN YOU LEARN FROM A DILAPIDATED DONKEY?

The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him.
They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly..
Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well.
He was astonished at what he saw.
With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal,
he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up
over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
MORAL #1:
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt and lots of it.
The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.
Each of our troubles is a steppingstone.
So quit complaining, rise to the occasion and never give up!
Shake it off and take a step up ...and whatever you do don't play around any more wishing wells!
MORAL #2:
Not all dilapidated donkeys fulfill their destinies by making jackasses of themselves or are forever losing their tawdry tails like Eeyore!
MERRY-CHALLENGED MUSING FOR THE DAY:
More people lose their life every year due to donkeys than from airplane crashes.

Eeyore, needs every friend he can get...so say something, preferably something positive. Otherwise, he may whomp you with his long tail or a big bunch of thistles, (provided he can summon up the courage to do so). After all, he is a mild-mannered mule (unless provoked by pesky pets or persnickety people).

- I love what you've done - you've created a fabulous Lens. Eeyore's voice (from the movie) is stuck with me forever - so when I see a picture of him I hear that gruff depressed long suffering grouchy voice - that voice was a perfect choice!
