Summertime is a great time to pick your own apples and cherries from our orchards. Or stop in one of our fine restaurants and have a slice of our popular homegrown apple or cherry pie. If that isn't sweet enough, visit one of our fudge shops.
Relax at Harborview Park and take in the beautiful gardens.
Evening concerts in the barn at Birch Creek are a tradition for Door county residents and visitors. Or take in the drive-in movie a little further north.

Egg Harbor is a village in Door County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 250 at the 2000 census. The village was incorporated in 1964, and is adjacent to the Town of Egg Harbor.

Harborview Park
This park is well known for it's beautiful flower beds, which line the walkway. A wonderful park to have a picnic, walk the beach and get your feet wet in Lake Michigan.
Door County's Farm Fresh Eggs
How Egg Harbor Got Its Name
Historical accounts record, an 1825 landing of a trade flotilla in the harbor. A good natured "war" broke out among the landing party and ended in a huge egg fight that left the traders and spectators covered with eggs, and the harbor shoreline littered with eggshells. Thus giving Egg Harbor its name.
On Friday, October 01, 2004, this reenactment of the 1825 battle took place.
Organizer George Bisbee initially said he wanted to use 3,000 real eggs to re-enact the fight. Though later he said that it was a slight exaggeration. However the Department of Natural Resources stepped in and changed it to plastic eggs. The DNR stated that eggs are breeding grounds for bacteria, and the invasive zebra mussels growing on the bottom of the bay would feast on the calcium shells.
The egg fight raised money for local scholarship funds.

Small Village - Big on Fun!
Year round Egg Harbor has some kind of event or festival going. They love festivals!
The celebrations begin on January 1 and continues on to Christmas.
January 1st starts out with an offbeat New Year's Day Parade. Fourth of July celebration is always a specular treat. Pumpkin Patch Festival on Columbus Day weekend. This is when the fall colors approach their peak, and is one of the most popular of the county's celebrations. (It is a real treat to take a drive up north to see the beautiful Fall colors.) Egg Harbor Holly Days on Thanksgiving weekend is a living reminder of the way Christmas used to be. Everyone joins in with old-fashioned carols. Followed by the tree lighting and special events for kids of all ages.

I had several ideas. At some point I will write about my Wisconsin/Michigan loop. But for now it only seems fit to write about Egg Harbor. It is where we go camping at least once in the summer.
