Ancient Egypt Lapbook
Ranked #91 in Education, #2,017 overall
A Unit Study for Homeschool
Ancient Egypt is one of the most fascinating of world cultures! What child isn't intrigued with mummies, pyramids, and the complicated religion of this ancient civilization?
Create an interdisciplinary study by including subjects besides just history. For example, you can study the plethora of gods and goddesses through their portrayal in Egyptian art. The Egyptians also had advanced mathematical understanding.
Float down the Nile with the Pharaohs and study Ancient Egypt today. Whether your children are early elementary or middle school, you can record your learning in a lapbook or notebook. Besides photos of my daughter's own lapbooks, I've collected and linked some of the best online resources available.

Adventures in Ancient Egypt (Good Times Travel Agency)
Amazon Price: $5.97 (as of 02/14/2012)![]()
Used Price: $2.34
My daughter loves this series (other titles include Ancient China, Vikings, and Ancient Greece). The Binkerton twins and their little sister Libby travel back in time and get involved in ridiculous adventures as they learn about ancient civilizations.
These books are done in comic book style with facts added at the bottom of each page. Some of the books include cleverly disguised nudity (a topless dancer behind a column for example) or bare bottoms of children, so be aware if that is an issue with you. I find them culturally appropriate and humorous, not lewd at all.

- I like your lens. Now I understand a little about your comment on one of my webpages. While you focus on the facts and are probably a good educator, you seem to avoid the underpinnings of this whole civilization. Its religion, at all levels, are very deep and contribute to all world religions, thereafter.

- Egipt continue to remain the most hidden civilization. Even today, we don't know for sure who was Imhotep the one who give the Egyptians the benefits of civilizations. Some scholars state that he was an alien, not a simple mythological character.
