  • Oversized grey sweater with cut neck to fit over one shoulder

    Top Gun was one of the biggest Eighties films around. It had it all; a rocking 80's sound track and cheesy volleyball beach scenes. So put on the shades, lean up against your F-14 and watch the babes roll in. Because really what chick could resist a fighter pilot?

    Make You Own 80's Costume - Men

    miami vice costumesTwo words: Miami Vice. It is one of the most popular Eighties TV shows around and set fashion trends for the decade. Either Tubbs or Crockett's look can be pulled off with relative ease and little money. The best bet you have in acquiring the proper clothing is to hit up a used clothes store where people send their closets worth of decades old clothes.

    For Sonny Crockett's look you need:

  • Some cheap knockoff Ray-Ban Wayfarer or Carrera sunglasses

  • Pastel pink or blue t-shirt

  • White sport coat (obviously from the 80's and Italian if possible)

  • White linen pants

  • White slip-on loafers

  • No socks (very important for the complete look)

  • Other nice touches would be a few days stubble and combed back hair


    • For The Richo Tubbs look:

  • Shiny suit jacket (80's and Italian if possible)

  • Matching pants for the suit or pastel/white linen pants

  • Pastel t-shirt or dress shirt with tie

  • Slip-on loafers

  • Other nice touches are a clean shave and jerry curls

    • Miami Vice Clothing

    If you can't find the clothes you need at a thrift store eBay has a great selection to get what you're after.

    Micheal Jackson Thriller Zombie CostumeHere's a good 80's Halloween costume idea because it's somewhat more accurate now with the passing of MJ. Though since you can't buy a zombie Thriller costume already done up you will have to put it together yourself, but hey that means there's less chance of you running into another MJ zombie on Halloween.

    What you need:

  • Thriller jacket & pants

  • Thriller MJ wig

  • Green, brown and black face paint


    • Here's how you put it all together:

  • First make cuts and tears on various parts of the jacket and pants, rubbing the seems with sandpaper to create fraying.

  • Use a little black and brown face paint to mimic dirt and grim on the outfit.

  • Using the rest of the paint you can simulate the look of a rotting MJ zombie on your face.

  • Now take the wig and load it up with mousse to give it that I've been dead for awhile look.

  • Feel free to add a little blood here and there if you choose.
