The Ultimate Guide To Squidoo Lenses By EelKat.

I joined Squidoo in April of 2007. At the time of Ekography's last edit I had 313 lenses and 23 groups. I make new ones all the time, so watch for new ones to be added as time goes by. This is my index for them all. Ekography is eternally under construction because I am constantly creating new lenses. Check back each week to see what's new. Have fun, enjoy your stay, return often. Thank you.

My Best Lens Ever! If you visit only one of my lenses let it be this one:

My biggest lens is one of Squidoo's largest content lens ever built!

This lens took me more than 4 weeks to build. The articles I wrote for this lens took a total of 70 hours to write, and total more any 20,000 words (the size of a novella or long short story). If you visit only one of my lenses let it be this one:

FAQ: What is your secret to lens success?

What I do and how you can do it too!

The contents of this section got so long that it was crowding out my list of lenses! LOL! So I figured it was high time I built a lens devoted to sharing my secrets of Squidoo success, and now have 2 lenses built to help you learn the ropes of becoming a Giant Squid. The info that used to be right here has now been moved to those 2 lenses so that I can keep this lens just for indexing my lenses on. Here they are:

Why am I on Squidoo?

When I first joined I didn't know you could make money on Squidoo. I came here to build lenses and share my knowledge about my favorite subjects. Than I learned I could make money doing something I loved doing: writing about my hobbies, so now I have made I my goal to make a regular and steady income here.

Right now I'm making about $10 a month here, my goal is to raise that to $458 a month, and to keep that ammount riseing higher as the months and years go by.

    SQUIDOO INCOME UPDATES:

From April to September 2007 my income from these Squidoo lenses ranged from $5 to $12 per month.

Since October 2007, I have not made less than $24 per month.

As of February 18, 2008 I am happy to announce that my monthly income from Squidoo, now ranges from $24 to $37 per month! WOO-HOO!

The April 2008 PayOut adds yet another payout milestone for me, with $62.88! Nearly double the average I had been getting, this is the first PayOut to reflect the addition og the new Glam Ads that Squidoo added to the pages.

I love watching those numbers rise!

FAQ: What Are Your Ten Best Lenses?

and why?

Do you mean ten best as in highest ranked? Most traffic? Most income? You didn't say. You don't know? You're telling me to just pick the best of the best for my own reasons. hhmmmmm . . . thinking . . .

Okay, I'll answer this way than: Here are the ten lenses of mine that are the best according to me because I poured my heart and soul into them. They are the ten lenses that I update constantly. Rarely does a week go by that I do not make some sort of change or update to these ten lenses. I obsess over them. I worry over them. I link these out all over the internet via countless methods. They are topics that I love with a burning passion, topics that I obsess over in my daily life, even when I'm not obsessing over the lenses themselves.

Why are these lenses my Ten Best Lenses? These are my Ten Best Lenses, because they are my ten favorite lenses and I just plain love them! :P

My thoughts and views on the world at large.

Below is a list of the lenses I have created thus far. Check them out.

Lensroll your faves.

Don't forget to vote on the star ratings on each lens as you visit them!

My lenses are tested and rated:

The Blog-O-Cuss Meter - Do you cuss a lot in your blog or website?
Created by OnePlusYou

Only 2 of my lenses failed this test: David Bowie Video Showcase and A Rebel's Guide to Life. Because those two failed the cussing test, both have had their ratings changed to R. All of my other lenses are rated G.

    NOTE:

If you see a lens that has an orange squid icon on it, instead of a photo avatar image, that means that that lens is currently under construction. You can still visit it, but please note that it is not yet finished and I am currently making changes and updates and edits to it.

Also, it takes me about 2 months to complete an entire lens from start to finish, so if you visit a lens and it looks a bit bare compared to my other lenses, than you can be certain that that lens is not yet finished, but is nearing completion.

One last note. Every day I pick at least one lens and do edits to it. Eventually every lens gets an overhaul, so if you read a lens today than read it again a few weeks from now, it'll will not be entirely the same, as I am constantly striving to perfect my lenses.

Enjoy your visits to my lenses, and be sure to leave comments and feedback on them to let me know what you liked and what I can do to make each one better.

Thanks!

FAQ: Why are there so many lenses about writing?

Why not?

I like writing. In fact, I love writing. I obsess over writing. Writing pretty much controls my life. I love to write. I also love to write about writing. So, more than half of the lenses I have created, are writing topics in one form or another. Yep, I've got a lot of lenses devoted to nothing but writing.

FAQ: What is it with you and horror anyways?

OR: Why so many lenses on horror-related topics?

Well, I like classic horror; both movies and books. Vincent Price is my favorite actor and Edgar Allan Poe is my favorite classic author, thus lenses on them both have become standard for me.

Or should I say Professor Snape Lenses?

FAQ: Why Snape?

Answer:

Why not? I like Snape.

Why do I like Snape?

Easy: Alan Rickman. (The cute guy in this picture.) ------>

I was an Alan Rickman fan before I saw the Harry Potter movie. I saw the movie before I read the book. I read the book because I loved Snape in the movie. After reading all 7 books, I loved Snape in the books even more than Snape in the movies. Snape in my fave Harry Potter character. In fact, Snape is the reason I became a fan of Harry Potter. In fact, I'm not a Harry Potter fan at all, I'm a Prof. Snape fan.

I do got to wonder though: Had someone other than Alan Rickman played Snape in the movie, would I have ever read the books at all?

FAQ: Why all the Disney Lenses?

Ahhh... someone who doesn't know me!

If you travel in many online chat-groups, message boards, forums, and fanlistings, you won't have to go very far before you realize that the username "EelKat" is almost synonamouse with the word Scrooge McDuck. I am a Uncle Scrooge and Darkwing Duck historian.

I've spent the past 27 years devoting a good part of my life to do nothing but studying, chroniclizing, and collecting everything there is to be found about Scrooge McDuck.

I'm basicly a living Scrooge McDuck encyclopedia. It has been said by other fans that I can be considered as his true #1 fan and most rabidly obsessed follower. I also own one of the world's largest and most complete Disney Duck comic book collections, rivaling only the collection owned by the god of Scrooge himself: Don Rosa.

My Scrooge fandom does go a bit more extreme than most... as the girl who works at the local Disney Store put it: "You must really like Uncle Scrooge!". This comment being said due to my habit of wearing a red frock coat and black top hat... that is when I'm not wearing a purple cape to flap through the night with. :D

What, you mean I've got too many or something? I love organizing things. I organize everything into categories. It's just a thing I do, so it's only natural that once I started Squidooing that I'd have to organize lenses too. As I come up with more topics to write abot, no dought I'll create more groups to organize them into as well.

Do you have a lens that is on-topic with one of my groups? Than jump on in and join it! I'm always looking for folks of a like-mind to link my lenses back to. Who knows, you may find your lens on my lensroll. Many of the lenses in my lensroll come out of groups I own.

The Autobiography of a car...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Hello! I am a 1964 Dodge 330 4-door sedan, VIN 4142216364, my name is The Goldeneagle. This site was created by my owner Wendy C. Allen of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, to save my life.

I am the main character of the original Twighlight Manor book, and a major supporting character of more that 30 other books and short stories by Maine author Wendy C. Allen.

I started out in life as a silver undercover Police car in Maine. In 1975 I retired from my job as a police car and was sent to Marcot Motors of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, where I was painted gold by some fool with a paint brush. He totally ruined my lovely silver paint job and left me streaked with brush lines. I was only there a few months before I was bought by the Allen family, who sanded me down and painted a lovely shade of metallic orange.

I remained the faithful family chauffeur for the next ten years. Together we drove on many road trips throughout the Northeast. In 1978, I took them to New York where we crossed the Brooklyn Bridge during it's major repair construction. That same year we went to Washington D.C. I took the Allen family to Arcadia in Bar Harbor to see The Thunder Hole in 1981. Every year I drove them to New Hampshire where we visited The Old Man on the Mountain and Story Land and The Swift River. Three times I climbed Mt. Washington.

I've brought home puppies and baby chickens. I waited in hospital parking lots and veterinary clinics. I remained forever and always a faithful friend. The only friend who was always there, steadfast and unmovable, silent and nonjudgmental. My red plush seats always there like a shoulder to cry on when no one else would lend and ear or a shoulder. I alone remained to one true friend, the only friend to the child who loved me and defend me when no one else would put up with my break downs and failures.

Over the years I grew old and tired, my engine weak and my transmission failing. My last trip was a desperate trip to the hospital, one dark and stormy night in 1985 when a hurricane flooded the town, sending the Atlantic Ocean over the Pier and up Maine Street. My last trip came when ambulances could ride faster than my Mopar engine and Mrs Allen had to be rushed to the hospital at 3AM. We speed through Old Orchard fatser than ever before, through hurricane floods that went higher than my door panels seeping water into my interior and flooding my floors, filling my transmission and engine with icy salt water, we made it to the hospital with Mrs. Allen, but I did not make it back home on my own and was towed home by a friend's little VW Rabbit.

In spite of my loyalty, with a dead transmission and an engine full of salt, I was useless, and parked in the yard, put up for sale for junk.

I was rescued from a trip to the junk yard in 1985 by 9 year old, Wendy C. Allen, after my trans died. Since 1985 I have remained a decoration on the hill in her rose garden, where she sits in my seats or on my hood to write the stories in which I appear. Without me, she can not write these stories for I am the one that inspires them. I have been happy in my life of peace and rest here in Old Orchard Beach these past 30 years. That has now changed.

New town ordinances and zoning laws have been set in Old Orchard Beach. As a result the police, the code enforcements officers, and the town manager are now in attempt to see my death and destruction, with threats of stealing me from my rightful owner and sending me to become scrap metal in the junk yard.

This is an outrage! They well not listen to reason.

My profile now comes to you to spread the word and ask for your help in saving my life. An entire network of websites devoted to my plight are now in the works and links to them well be added here within the next few hours.

Please join the protest and put an end to the Old Orchard Beach reign of terror. Old Orchard Beach is a town not a dynasty, they have no right to take me from my home and kill me!

PLEASE DON'T LET THEM KILL ME!!!!!

Wow I wondered at first how it would take so long for anyone to create a lens - and then I scrolled down, scrolled further, even further, and realised I wasn't even halfway yet! But this is no ordinary lens, it's not only the longest I have ever seen (I think), it interesting, full of great content, makes a great read, and I would recommend it to everyone as a great example of a lensography. Puts the plans for mine to shame (still only just starting on mine).

Nice to find someone who likes Vincent Price. That unique voice - spooky... But then Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp are very Gothic as well... Good choices.

It's so hard to pick just three! I am so passionate about every topic I create a lens for! Here are my choices though:

#1) Lord Sesshomaru Costume

With over 20,000 words written for this one, you can tell this really tops the ranks as the lens I put the most time and energy into. This is my "monster" lens, cause it just keeps growing and growing as I find new things to add to it every week. It's me and CosPlay and historical reenactment gone mega wild.

#2 Publishing Methods

One of my very first lenses, this lens made it to #32 and stayed on The Top 100 List for a little over a month. This lens took well over three months to write the long articles for. Basically a an info lens for self-publishers.

#3) Ekography

My personal lensography, and yet another monster sized lens; this one not only links back to all of my 200 lenses, but also serves as my personal biography/profile lens as well. Anyone who want to get to know me better would do good to stop here first.
