Election 2012 T-Shirts

in 2012, we'll see a lot of conservatives lobbying for the job of new President of the United States of America. A lot of these faces will be familiar to the American people:

• Mitt Romney- he made a concerted effort in 2008 to become President, but was just shy of receiving enough support from his party.


• Sarah Palin - She has not yet announced whether she will be running in 2012, but all signs seem to point to yes. She hasn't stepped out of the limelight one bit since her 2008 campaign with John McCain.Update: she has announced she will not be running in 2012.


• Newt Gingrich - Former Speaker of the House who has not been directly involved in politics since leaving the House in 1999.


• Donald Trump - The Donald has stated he may run for President in 2012. This would be a very interesting race to have Obama vs Trump! Update: not interested in running, though it would've been fun.


• Also potentials are Herman Cain, Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani, Charlie Crist, and others.

Leading candidates:

Since Barack Obama took office in January 2009, his approval rating has been in decline. While he started off strong as people were looking for the purported "change" he offered during his election campaign of 2008, as time went on, the American people have become disillusioned for the most part with the 44th President. More Americans are finding that they strongly disagree with his politics, as you can see on this Obama approval rating score updated daily.

Surely in the campaign for re-election, the President will have some tough questions and problems to answer, namely:

• Why hasn't the economy recovered under your Presidency?


• What are you doing to protect our nation from terrorists as opposed to the previous administration?


• Why is the job market still in decline under your leadership?

The major key debate item will be the economy, job growth, and the housing market, all of which have been virtually stagnant in Obama's Presidency. These points will make the perfect targets for the Republican party to question and ridicule going into the election. However, if we do see the start of a recovery before the election in November of 2012, we could see Obama's approval rating spike up.

• The withdrawal of troops from Iraq starting in 2009
• Increased deployment of troops to Afghanistan
• Improved housing for the military
• Halted plans of a larger nuclear arsenal
• Signed nuclear limitation treaty with Russia in 2010
• Economic stimulus package of 2009
• Federally funded stem cell research
• Health care reform bill

Those that strongly disapprove of the President are not only usually Republican, but they are very anti-Obama. That is, they'd like to see anyone but him in the oval office! Sentiments against the President have increased since election, as his promises of "hope," "change," and his use of catchphrases and slogans were very odious.

The top things people don't like about the President:

• The economy. It isn't as bad as in 2008-2009, but it isn't much better.


• Health care reform: The idea of a new health care system that is unclearly spelled out for the American people who have been used to a certain way for a long period of time is a shock to the system; an increase in taxes also isn't very palatable.


• The whole "birth certificate" issue: Whether this is farcical or truth, skeptics still love to point to this story.
