Like many citizens, I am deeply concerned that America is headed in the wrong direction. Elections matter, and, though often stated, there's never been a more important election than the next one in 2012. As a graphic designer and a republican in support of the tea party movement, this lens is intended to showcase prospective candidates. Serving as Speaker of The House of Representatives between 1995-1999, Newt Gingrich successfully promoted the "Contract With America", pushed to balance the budget, cut taxes and reform the welfare system. Previously, Newt represented Georgia in Congress for twenty years. He was the March of Dimes Citizen of The Year (1995) for his contributions to the American Diabetes Association, and founded the Center for Health Transformation in 2003. In addition to his governorship, Mitt Romney has had extensive experience in the private sector. With degrees from Brigham Young University, Harvard Law School and Harvard Business school, his work as CEO with an investment firm (Bain & Company) has been notably profitable. Mitt also undertook the successful revamping of the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, staging an impressive event amidst strong security concerns pertaining to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
