Electric baseboard heaters
Similar in configuration to forced hot water baseboard - low profile units running along the base of a wall with a central heating element surrounded by radiating fins - electric baseboard heaters are inexpensive to produce and install.
They offer instant heat and great reliability, but may be more or less cost-effective relative to other forms of heat depending on electricity prices.

Q-Mark HBB1000
Electric Hydronic Baseboard Heater
With Heavy-Duty Welded Steel Louvered Grilles For SafetySit back and relax in the warmth of the Qmark HBB1000 Electric Hydronic Baseboard Heater. This worry free baseboard heater is perfect for households with kids and pets. A sheathed electric heating element is totally immersed in a heat-transfer liquid and sealed in a heater-length copper tube. The large diameter reservoir maximizes the volume of heat storage fluid to prolong the thermal constant of the entire heater. Gentle heat keeps radiating even after the thermostat turns off because of the hydronic elements retention qualities.
The entire Q-Mark HBB1000 baseboard heater mounts flush to any wall and flat on any floor - wood, carpet or tile. The trim, three-inch thick functional design and low operating temperatures allow carpeting to be installed up to and around the baseboard. Heavy-duty welded steel louvered grilles discourage insertion of foreign objects and direct heat outward into the room. Built-in cut-off automatically shuts down the heater should any overheating occur.

Electric baseboard clicking
Solutions and costs
We have electric baseboard heat (220 v., fin-type, not fluid filled), and the unit in the bedroom clicks a lot whenever it goes on, which, being the bedroom, is very annoying. It's about 8 ft. long.1. Is there a way to fix it without replacing the unit?
2. If not, would a fluid-filled baseboard fix things?
3. If (2), then what might I expect to pay for purchase and professional installation in the NE Ohio area?
And are programmable thermostats available for these units, and at what cost?
You may be able to get the clicking to stop by removing front panel to gain access to visually see the heating element. What ever points the elements or fins rest on is where the noise is coming from.
When the element heats up its also expanding and at the points where it is supported from is where it moves. Maybe a little aluminum foil folded up under points of support will allow it to move freely.
If you have a thermostat on the wall now that operates this there are programmable thermostats for this. they can be ordered through your heating repairman or i have also seen them at your building supply stores

Hydronic Electric baseboard
Heaters vs Standard
The Hydronic units may be marginally more efficient. As long as you match the nameplate capacities and voltages of the units, you should have no problem.
If you have a central thermostat instead individual ones on the units, you may have to co-ordinate the voltage and switching protocol with the new units. The wiring may be a bit different, as 240V. units are now required to switch both wires, where old units sometimes switched only one. (This also is easy to accommodate.).
Hooking up new electric baseboard heaters. 220 wiring going from breaker box is black and whit.
wiring in hea?
In breaker box, black and white go on the two pole breaker. black on one, white on the other. be sure to connect the ground wire to the ground bar.In the baseboard heater, ground to the ground screw, white and black from the panel to the heating element. sometimes these are wire nuted together so the heater can be fed from either side. Sometimes the heater has a thermostat with two wires off of it. It does not matter what the polarity is on 220v, a heater cannot run backward, two wires from panel to two wires in heater.
You will need a thermostat either on the heater or on the wall.
How many feet of 240v electric baseboard heaters can i put on 1 circuit?
240VAC x 20A
Simple. Find the fuse for the breaker and find the rating. Lets say that it is 20A. At 240VAC that would mean you could have a total of 4800 Watts (240VAC x 20A) total on that circuit. All that matters is the WATTAGE of the heaters. If I were to guess you probably talking about two 750 Watt heaters and a 1250 Watt heater. If so, a 20A fuse is fine as long as there are no other heaters on the circuit already. If there is just use the formula above.
I am changing one of my old electric baseboard heaters 1000 watts/ 208v.
I only could find 1000 watts/ 240v ?
Yes, you'll have no problem. With heaters, the rated voltage is simply an upper limit, though if your electric supplier is supplying less than 240 volts you may not get as much heat from the heater as you expect. You might consider installing a 1500 watt, 240 volt heater as long as the breaker is rated at at least 15 amps.
