Electric Bike Conversion Kits

The Bionix Electric Bicycle Conversion Kit System

The BionX electric bike electric conversion kit can turn almost any bike into an electric pedaling scheme. This is a power assisted bike which adds drive power as you bike. You can set the amount of assist needed with the onboard computer. The BionX has 4 modes of motor assist from 25% to 200%. Hub drive is rated at 250 watt nominal power to 450 peak. 4 generation grades: The battery recharges slightly when riding, stopping or going downhill. The motor can be installed on most bikes, simply by replacing the rear tire of your bicycle with the BionX wheel and tire drive.

Fabricated in Quebec, Canada, The Bionx electric bike motor conversion kits are reliable, lightweight and offer a range of up to 60 miles to a charge.

The BionX system can be installed on a tandem, disc-brake or even a 24-speed bicycle. The battery is 24 volt 8ah NiMH type, weighs only 9 lbs. and can power your bike 20 - 50 miles depending on the assistance level you ride at. The battery is installed on the lower frame using the water bottle mount. This technology allows a quick installation or removal of the battery.

The standard Bionx arrangement includes a control console, a battery and a wheel/motor. The Bionx scheme can be installed on most pedaling cycles by replacing the rear tire with the Bionx drive-wheel. The Bionx arrangement can be retrofitted on just about any bicycle type: road, mountain, tandem while having the ability to fold.

Using an on-board microprocessor, the Bionx drive is measuring your thrusting power (through chain torque) and compensates for your weakest leg insuring a smooth progression while accelerating.

Bionx offers four modes of power generation. Regenerative stopping activates when the rear handbrake is used. It is possible to charge the Bionx battery pack by pedaling against motor resistance. Generation mode makes it harder to foot pedal so its often used when going downhill. Please note that the generative mode does not replace the existing brakes, but considerably increases stopping quality, especially on extended downhill runs.

Also, you can have speeds over 25 mph, the new PL500HS (High Speed) Bionx electric bicycle conversion kit gets the adrenaline pumping. The 500 watt electric hub drive has less torque and hill climbing power than Bionx's 350 watt motor but really moves out on flat ground. An excellent choice for long rides and roads where you want to keep up with traffic.

The Bionx drive is a high performance direct drive, gear less and brush less hub motor. Equipped with magnetic field drive technology, the external magnets turn whereas the stator is stationary. No friction inside the Bionx drive means no wear on internal parts resulting in a motor that will last for years.

A thumb accelerator allows for power-assistance from the drive whether you cycle or not. The thumb accelerator is included with all Bionx kits at Electric types of cycles.

Mounted on your bike handlebars, the Bionx console is equipped with a two-mode microprocessor that provides both assistance and generation modes. Other features include a multifunction odometer, battery gauge and even a programmable alarm that goes off when the bike is moved.
