Electronic Readers

My favorite Electronic Reader has to be the Amazon Kindle. This thing is incredible. I have yet to get one for myself but I recently bought one for my mother as a christmas gift. She absolutely loves it.

This reader is small enough that you could probably fit it in your back pocket, so it is just about the size of your standard paperback book, but it is thinner than my cell phone. This form factor is perfect for the person who just wants to sit back and read a book.

The E-Ink screen on it is also one of it's major selling points. The screen isn't backlit like your computer screen so you never have to deal with any kind of eye strain. It also doesn't produce any glare in sunlight so you can easily read it outdoors. Try that with your Ipad!

You can easily pay for new books on Amazon, and there are hundreds of thousands of them to choose from. There are also a lot of free books which you can download straight from amazon or from any number of free resources(these are almost always books that were written before copyright law, or books which are no longer copyrighted for any number of reasons). You can get just about all of the old Jules Verne classics for free for example.

Amazon also remembers all of the books you have boughten so you can pull them up on any number of other devices you have. For example you can download the Kindle app on your iphone or android phone and it will have all of your books or you can download the a kindle reader on your computer and you can read any of your books from there.

If you are going to get one of the many electronic readers on the market right now, I would definitely suggest you get a Kindle.
