"We were looking for a toy that would provide hours of learning, and also be fun to play. This was a birthday present for a 10 year-old, who already has every toy imaginable. We hit the jackpot with this one! He immediately started into the first project (there are 300 of them, in progressing difficulty), and played continuously for an hour and a half, his excitement building with each completed project. How many toys can do that? Even his Dad and uncle became like kids again, joining in the fun. The many pieces are organized in tray slots, so there is a place for every piece. I think it is best to start at the top of the line, instead of starting at lower levels and progressing up the ladder to the more expensive ones. I'm talking about this manufacturer. For instance, what a resistor is, does, and what it's used for in real life. I know there is a teacher's companion book that comes with a more expensive set, so for the money, this toy is incredible.
