Eli Stone - Cancelled (I mean not renewed) by ABC!

NOTE: Final Episodes of Eli Stone to Air on Saturday, June 20 through Saturday, July 11 at 10:00 p.m (source) While you're waiting, check out Eli Stone: The Complete First Season

Eli Stone has been cancelled or at least not renewed (not officially canceled but basically not coming back after remaining episodes are aired without a miracle).

In the show, Eli is a modern day prophet/lawyer who has visions from God that help him solve cases. The show is not heavy on sex/violence and has a musical element to it and a positive message.

Many have suggested that ABC change the show to another time slot because it is on Tuesdays at 10pm/9 Central. It doesn't seem appropriate for a show that many families can enjoy together.

What can we Eli Stone fans do to save the show?
I think the most effective way may be to write a letter to ABC (Contact ABC Links: address | contact form) mentioning the things you love about the show and why they should renew it (and perhaps move it to an earlier time slot if 10pm is not a good time for you, etc).

Watch the remaining episodes of Eli stone (look for them this summer) and tell other people about the show and get them to watch it too (know any Nielsen families?) Buying Eli Stone DVDs, watching Eli Stone on ABC's website, and joining in other campaigns that may pop up to save Eli Stone may help too.

Should Eli Stone have been cancelled?

Was ABC right to cancel the show Eli Stone?

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

No, ABC should NOT have cancelled Eli Stone!

J says:

Please do not cancel. This is one of the few shows that ABC should be proud of -- they should promote the fact that thinking people actually have something to watch.

Vik says:

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!...please!!!...i need one more season!!...(an Italian fan)..

Stephanie says:

I love Eli Stone!!

Ivan says:

No, great show, with all the reality crap on TV its nice to have a show with a great cast and a great message, the network should consider leaving Eli Stone, but hey I'm just one person, I hope more people are speaking up!

Yrving Torrealba says:

Terrific cast, great interesting cases and beautiful san francisco, why would it be cancelled? It was one of my favorite shows!

Bob says:

Eli Stone was a family good wholesome program. ABC has got it wrong in not renewing it.

oldeduc8er says:

Absolutely NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why is it that good, family oriented shows are "not renewed" but they can leave on other shows tht are horrible in content and certainly aren't "family friendly". I have had it with the reality shows that have people eating all sorts of bugs, slime, etc....let's get rid of a few of them.

vicki says:

Please don't cancel the show. It's not "reality tv", there isn't blood all over and it not only send a positive message but make me laugh! With the economy and wars....we need something to make us smile and see a the better side of humanity.

Adam says:

No way was ABC right This is a great show and should be back for a long time

Amanda says:

This is my favorite show by far. It is witty, intelligent and focuses around good moral values and important social issues. This is a rare gem in a sea of trashy shows about sex, money, and de-moralization that are out today. I applaud ABC for creating an entertaining, funny, and smart show without peppering it with unfeeling/unimportant sex scenes and mind-numbing writing. I am a 24 year old female from Chicago IL and can say that this is a refreshing piece of entertainment in an age when social decency seems to be leaving us. Please keep this show on the air to help promote the finer values of life that we rarely see with other programs.

rod degesero says:

not at all

Janie says:

I absolutely looked forward to that show every week. Always a great message. Not like those ridiculous reality shows. It's a shame...........

WIZMLA says:

I love Eli. There isn't much TV that I enjoy anymore, but I was addicted to this one! I am so upset that it has not been renewed! Bring back ELI !!!!

Steve says:

No-Great show, unique. It just needed some time to accumulate a following

B. Starr says:

I loved it. It was different and campy. The message is positive and it wasn't trashy and common. It should not be cancelled.

matt mcbride says:

I only watch(ed) and like(d) 3 shows...Chuck on NBC, Dirty Sexy Money and Eli Stone on ABC. Chuck almost didn't get renewed and we all know the fate of the other two...and to have these shows taken while the pointless and stupid realityshows like BFF for Paris Hilton get on the air! Really??? WOW!!! Eli Stone has been extremely uplifting and thought provoking...i'll even say inspiring...who doesn't want more out of life? I think if there's a show everyone could relate to it's Eli Stone...make a difference in the world.

Marie says:

Heck no!!!

Charlotte Watts says:

Eli Stone should NOT have been cancelled. It's one of the few shows a family can sit together and watch. In the times we live in, we can all use something uplifting. This show does exactly that.

Charlotte Watts says:

Eli Stone was one of the rare shows on TV that the WHOLE family can watch together. Bring it back!!!!!

LEGALIZE MARIJUANA says:

Sure,, i believe it could have been done better! I am a picky watcher and i actually like watching this show. Plus it had a great cast of actors. I cant believe they are cancelled it!! NBC should pick this show up,, they need something, lol!

Yes, it is good that Eli Stone was cancelled.

smithnjones1 says:

terrible show, I saw the first episode and kinda thought hmmmm... maybe, then I saw another episode, then another... its a terrible terrible show, this isn't another Studio 60 or Arrested Development scenario where a good show just doesn't get the ratings or whatever.... Eli Stone has a terrible premise that isn't strong enough to last for several seasons (or even several episodes). Its like early edition except the orange cat had more charisma then the entire cast of eli stone combined

cb says:

I'm happy when networks are dumb and cancel tv shows I like. This way I don't have to watch their newtwork and make them money from commercials. Keep up the good work and someday you'll find no one cares what you put your channel because they know you can't commit to anything.

Janet says:

Refreshing, imaginative, thought-provoking, and appealing, so OF COURSE the idiot decision-makers at ABC cancelled it! Words cannot express how upset and disappointed I am (and I'm not the only one). ABC used to be my preferred station, but if this is the kind of brain-dead decisions they make, I'm moving on!

ANGIE ENGLAND says:

BRING IT BACK. IT IS A GREAT SHOW AND ACTUALLY HAS SOME MEANING. MORE THAN THESE REALITY SHOWS THAT YOU ARE SHOWING.

ELI LOVER says:

IT IS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS EVER.... I HOPE THAT THEY CAN BRING IT BACK!!

George Michael says:

The time slot did not kill Eli Stone, and it's NOT a family show. Too many homosexual storylines. It had an inspired first season, but fell flat the second season. ABC was right to cancel it.

shayar says:

Eli stone was the best thing on tv. Here is a link wich we could tell them to bring it back. http://abc.go.com/faq?lid=ABCCOMGlobalFooter&lpos=FAQ#1

Michael says:

Eli Stone was a great show...I find myself very similar him in the fact that I have dreams about everybody around me and they all come to past. I found it encouraging that somebody out there knows about prophesy. I believed it was a great show with a interesting influence. Prophesy is unpredictable and that's why the story line seemed a little shaky, but it was kinda how my whole life has been. I definitely will be purchasing the DVDs. Note we may need a little of Gods super on our natural cause the worlds is jacked up anyways. Why not create a show to express that. Inspires me to keep doing what I doing!

oldno7 says:

Eli Stone was good for the first few episodes, then i lost interest. Too supernatural it think.

So yes it should be canceled becaus i couldn't see where thay were going with it next.

Floridian says:

Though I had a number of problems with the immorality attached to someone who was supposed to hear from God, I was intrigued by the show until the transexual minister episode. This is junk...I'm glad it's gone.

Maui says:

Save the show. Cut 30% of ABC's poor management to make up the difference in costs. The original 3 big networks have to understand that its a new world out there with cable, satellite and x-box machines all competing for the air time hours and the almighty advertising dollar. Understand that the work does not revolve around you.

Tom says:

It is a great show please continue

Bethany says:

Whatever Laura Tull. Who are you anyways? Why should we listen to you... you are a nobody. You should be shipped off to an island so no one can hear the shrill of your voice. You are probably just upset he didn't sleep with you.

Ian says:

Yes, It was a rearted show which makes way less sense than a great show like Knight Rider. A lawyer who does all these save the world prophecys, this god vision stuff has been done before and plus their is no action. If Arnold Schwarzenegger played Eli Stone it would have gone for at least eight seasons, people today they want to see drama but also with an action element thrown in.

chad says:

hell yes

marie ballard says:

you have got to be kidding. finally abc (or any other network for that matter) has come up with a decent heart warming series, and you are canceling it? you can't let this happen. i am so tired of all the sick violet junk on tv. you have got to give this show a chance.

euphnet says:

no...this lady above me is bat shizz crazy. this show is so amazing i don't even fast forward through commercials.

Laura Tull says:

Yes. I hate to write it. I loved what the show stood for, but I was treated inhumanely and improperly by this production. The typical Hollywood scandal stuff. I am a good girl who loved my job, and I suspect that they kept individuals who played the politics and now I am sick. Send Johnny Lee Miller home to England so his people can't be such ego maniacs that they destroy another person's life and goals and objectives. It should not matter if I am just a small fish in a large Ocean. Mr. Miller is a shark to me and I am owed $13000 for what they did to me.

Peace and out.

What to Send to ABC?

Shows I have liked in the past that were cancelled had campaigns where you send an item to the network in hopes that they'll renew the show. For Roswell
, it was tabasco sauce and for Journeyman it was Rice-a-Roni.

For Eli Stone, I'm not sure all fans have agreed on sending ABC one item as a symbol yet. I've seen George Michael CDs mentioned. CDs are kind of expensive though unless you buy a used one cheap or if you already had one collecting dust. I also saw stones mentioned but that seems too boring.

I never missed this show. Even when we had to be out, I recorded it. The story line is great. A positive show to watch. No blood and guts, no demons or ghost. Just people with a slite little twist. KEEP THE SHOW ON>>>>>>>>>>

The last moral shows that aired for any length of time were Little House House On The Prairie, The Brady Bunch and the The Waltons? PLEASE DON'T CANCEL ELI STONE!!! America NEEDS MORE shows like Eli that have a GOOD clean, healthy message...NOT more shows with sex and violence. BRING ELI BACK!!

I don't usually comment on anything on the internet. However this deserves a comment. Please do not cancel this show. It is a good clean family show. Yes it is different from the shows that are currently on TV, but this is what makes the show refreshing. I have watched every episode and I hope ABC will change their mind. Eli Stone is good change from the million and one reality shows on television. Please let the show continue. Change the time slot if the current one is not working. Give it a chance to grow.
