J. Joseph Prendergast has been a practicing physician for over 30 years. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine as well as Endocrinology and Metabolism. A graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan he completed a fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Henry Ford Hospital Detroit, MI and his residency at the University of California, San Francisco. In the beginning, Dr. Robert Furchgott in 1980 found that the endothelial lining of the

(Medicine) at Harvard Medical School, Chairman of the Department of Medicine at
Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Physician-in-Chief and Director of Research at
Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston. Prior to his work at Harvard and Brigham
and Women's, he served as Arthur Bloomfield Professor and Chairman of the
Department of Medicine at Stanford.
He was the first to explain to me the extraordinary observation that atherosclerotic
heart disease could not only be controlled but reversed. His research touched on
clinical improvement and was forwarded with multiple studies by John P. Cooke, MD.
Dr. Cooke is presently head of Cardiovascular Research at Stanford. Very productive
on new insights and understanding of vascular health.

This, on the other hand, is to be a living document updated continuously. It is my
task to continue this project forever since it is so personal to me. I will need your

My personal story began with meeting these individuals. Since I had been noted to be
heavily laden with atherosclerosis in my abdominal arteries at age 37 I took an
uncommon interest in their research into the reversal of atherosclerosis. After 10
years of l-arginine use, I had no evidence of atherosclerosis. The testing available
today with arterial wave form analysis allows me to monitor how well I'm doing with
my personal regression therapy.

AIMS: Oral L-arginine supplementation has been used in several studies to improve endothelium-dependent, nitric oxide (NO)-mediated vasodilation. L-Arginine treatment is hampered by extensive presystemic elimination due to intestinal arginase activity. In contrast, L-citrulline is readily absorbed and at least in part converted to L-arginine. The aim of our study was to assess this metabolic conversion and its subsequent pharmacodynamic effects. METHODS: In a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled cross-over study, 20 healthy volunteers received six different dosing regimes of placebo, citrulline, and arginine. Pharmacokinetic parameters (C(max), T(max), C(min), AUC) were calculated after 1 week of oral supplementation. The ratio of plasma L-arginine over asymmetric dimethylarginine, an endogenous inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (arginine/ADMA ratio), urinary cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) and nitrate excretion rates, and flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD) was measured to assess pharmacodynamic effects. RESULTS: L-Citrulline dose-dependently increased AUC and C(max) of plasma L-arginine concentration more effectively than L-arginine (P < 0.01). The highest dose of citrulline (3 g bid) increased the C(min) of plasma L-arginine and improved the L-arginine/ADMA ratio from 186 +/- 8 (baseline) to 278 +/- 14 [P < 0.01, 95% confidence interval (CI) 66, 121]. Moreover, urinary nitrate and cGMP were increased from 92 +/- 10 to 125 +/- 15 micromol mmol(-1) creatinine (P = 0.01, 95% CI 8, 58) and from 38 +/- 3.3 to 50 +/- 6.7 nmol mmol(-1) creatinine (P = 0.04, 95% CI 0.4, 24), respectively. No treatment improved FMD over baseline. However, pooled analysis of all FMD data revealed a correlation between the increase of arginine/ADMA ratio and improvement of FMD. CONCLUSION: Our data show for the first time that oral L-citrulline supplementation raises plasma L-arginine concentration and augments NO-dependent signalling in a dose-dependent manner.

If you have read any of my other blogs like Diabetic Help you will know that I have found success controlling my diabetes with exercise, proper eating and a strong antioxidant. Well I decided that if I am going to take a MLM product I just as well try them all and find the best one. But I wanted to find the one that helped me the most so I could share my findings with others..

Well I have tried Xango, Monivie, Noni, Acai, Zrii, Agel, Goji, Kyani and several local health store products. Most of these worked very similar and Kyani Sunrise was the one I used the longest. But with the antioxidant I was adding several other vitamins and minerals. The antioxidant juices was only part and I need something more.

But my experiment took a turn several months ago. I was trying a product called Mistica from Synergy Worldwide and had decided to try the whole V3 system. It had most of the vitamins and minerals I was adding to my antioxidant. I then began to study the main product of the V3 system called ProAri 9. This product is a complex mixture of products with the key ingredient of L-arginine.

Anyway I started the V3 system the first January 2009 and have been amazed at how much better I feel. At first I was concerned because the ProArgi 9 would spike my blood sugar but now it does not affect it much. I am now just taking the V3 system without any other vitamins or minerals, except alpha lipid acid which is not in the V3 and is important to people with diabetes. The taste is not as good as some of the other products I tried but a minor trade of for better health.

All people with diabetes react differently to different foods, nutrient and medications so it may not work the same for everyone. Whether you have diabetes or not the Synergy Worldwide V3 system has the proper blend needed for a health body. With this I have reduced my A1c from 11.7 to 4.7. To me this is just amazing and I have seen a difference in my energy level, I have seen a reduction in my dry skin and no longer have any issues with my eyes.

People are getting help from their poor health or medical problems. So why can't the government and medical groups endorse these products and stop providing everyone with medications with terrible side effects.
