Great Sacrifice, Great Faith, Great Forgiveness
Elisabeth Elliot is one of a number of great women of the Christian faith that I have deep admiration for. I remember as a young girl hearing about her husband, Jim Elliot, and other missionaries, including Nate Saint, who were killed in Ecuador by what were then known as the Auca Indians. My mother made sure that we knew all about the sacrifice that they made because they loved Jesus enough to want to share what He had done for them. The remarkable thing is that Elisabeth and other wives who had lost their husbands went into the tribes and worked with these people in spite of what had been done to their husbands. There is so very much to know and share that I am sure we will only touch the surface, but I hope to provide you with resources so that you can learn more about this remarkable woman.

This is the earliest book written about the experience of the missionaries who were killed in Ecuador, a wonderful book. In fact, I can't think of a book that Elisabeth Elliot has written that you will find easy to put down once you have started reading.

This is about the family of one of the missionaries who accompanied Jim Elliot, Nate Saint. "'End of the Spear' is the remarkable journey of a savage Amazon tribesman who becomes family to the son of a North American man he kills. Mincayani (Louie Leonardo) is a Waodani warrior who leads the raid that kills Steve Saint's father and four other missionaries. Through a suspenseful series of events Steve Saint (Chase Ellison) is able to visit Mincayani's tribe. Steve tries to learn which warriors killed his father, but has to leave with his question unanswered. Steve returns to the Waodani as an adult (Chad Allen). Together Mincayani and Steve confront the true meaning of the life and death of Steve's father, and the other men who were killed.
