Above all else.... I'm Mom....
Welcome to my page! I am a nurse, a wife, a sister, a friend... but most of all I am the proud mother of seven beautiful children. Yes, I said seven! Yes... the number after six. No, really, I'm not kidding.
And to answer your other questions:
* Yes, we know what causes it. We're going to stop washing our underwear together.
* Yes, we own a TV. We just don't watch it much!
* We'll stop when we get an ugly one.... hasn't happened yet!
* When you find something you're good at, you should keep at it!
* We're trying to outbreed the stupid people.
The truth is, we love children.
So, please, feel free to come into my living room. You'll have to step over a pile of blocks, past a doll's tea party and our walls are covered with school projects instead of Rembrandts or Picassos... but there's never a dull moment and the little ones give the sweetest hugs and kisses.
I'm a Wife: Meet My Wonderful Husband!!
That big guy holding our four-year-old daughter, Arielle, is my husband, Steven. Steven may try to come off as big and scary-looking (at 6 ft 3 plus, he has the big part down. We try not to giggle at the concept of "scary looking".)I met Steven when we were both working at the county hospital. I was a nurse on the pediatrics floor and he delivered supplies from the warehouse to our stockroom. He won me over with a lame pick-up line (no, seriously, it was REALLY lame) and bad jokes. There you go, guys, the secret to winning a woman's heart... bring her the things she needs to do her job well, and tell bad jokes. (The pick-up line thing was probably a fluke).
Now Steven plays SAHD most days (he is also an Emergency Medical Technician for the ambulance service at our hospital) and he is an awesome dad. This picture was taken the first day of this school year... dropping all five of the bigger kids off on their first day of school was a little hard on him... but not nearly as hard as the next day, when his baby girl started preschool!
My Favorite Books to Help Me Be a Better Wife
Lenses Because of My Husband
So, out of love for my husband, I am building a Lensography of lenses all about the WWE. Besides... I now know way more about the WWE than I ever knew there was to know. (I have been pleasantly surprised to find out what genuinely good-hearted people the stars of the WWE are... they do so much charity work!)
I'm a Mother: Meet My Beautiful Children
-
Alison
Alison, all grown up at age 19, is the light of our lives. It's nice to see some results for all the years of dirty diapers, sleepless nights, runny noses, and all around hard work! She is a freshman in college studying to become a nurse like mom. She's also quite the budding writer, so I will probably be talking her into signing up for a Squidoo account pretty soon! -
Joseph
Joseph is a sophomore in high school. He's a brilliant mathematician, a pretty decent football player (he's on the Junior Varsity team for high school), and a wonderful big brother. He wants to be a math teacher someday. If your child is lucky, he or she will have Joseph for a math teacher... after assisting with years of homeschooling his younger siblings he is wonderful at explaining math concepts in a way that they are easy to "get"!
This picture is from his wrestling team group photo. And I am the only person (so far!) who is allowed to "mess" with those beautiful curls. -
Jonathan
Jonathan is a 13 year old in seventh grade. He loves the book series "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". We got him the movie for his birthday and we were pleasantly surprised at what a good movie it was. Jonathan is a great helper around the house and he loves to cook and bake. He wants to be the next Gordon Ramsey. I'm just glad to have someone around who is always wiling to bake Mommy something chocolate! -
Amber
Meet the cutest, fiercest little linebacker you will ever lay eyes on. Amber is the only girl on her 3rd and 4th grade football team, but she's no wimp! Just because there are long blonde curls flying out the backside of her helmet does not mean you should underestimate her. As Alison says, "Anyone who underestimates Amber deserves the butt whooping they will get." Considering her first photo ever in the hospital showed her with little fists ready for the perfect right upper-cut.... this is nothing new! -
Amanda
Well, every family has one... Amanda is ours... the ultimate drama queen! She is in love with all things pink, frilly, and lacy. She reads with dramatic flair and can never just "stand"... she always has to "pose". And if she doesn't get her way, those big brown eyes will fill up with tears so quickly that it takes all of our power not to die laughing at the sheer hambone intensity of it... And how many first graders will say to you, "Mommy, breakfast was delectable!" -
Arielle
Arielle is a high-powered kid. We often hear, "Oh, she's so cute!" to which we respond "Don't fall for it!" You see, Arielle is actually half terrorist, half sumo wrestler, with a little bit of kamikaze pilot thrown in, just for spice.
This is the child who Steven once called his "princess", only to get scowled at. With fists balled up on her little hips she growled at her Daddy, "No, I'm AN ANGEL!" Point noted....
She really is a little love, though. If you can get her to stop running around long enough, you'll literally get bowled over by her hugs! -
Patrick
Even though he's only 2-1/2, he's already a true joy. He goes after everything in his environment with passion and intensity. He doesn't walk... he runs. Patrick is our exhausting precious littlest blessing.

Lenses Because of My Children
The following lensographies are all about activities I either do with my children or because of my children.
I'm a Nurse
Now it is my turn. After leaving the "big city" for a rural area, the slower pace of life is allowing me to "pay forward" the gifts I have been given. I hope they are of use to you!
