Thank you for sharing the spiritual element of wapiti. They live here in my mountain valley and I cherish their essence. It is always a thrill to be in their presence and I am moved by their spirit. This lens provided a powerful learning experience. Appreciated!

Beautiful Loving Elk, Stopping by to say that I love what you have written here. I was greeted by the Elk in my vision quest during an initiation weekend with Mankind Project, New Warrior Training Adventure. Elk has shown me perseverance and I now see how having pride in my sensitivity is a good thing. Taking things slow is good for me to realize. Time for myself has usually been painful as I feel lonely but I believe now that I can take that time. Thank you. Aho

It is interesting to read about the Elk spirit and how it relates to types of people. I know someone who has Elk, and I bring them apples in the fall that I have found laying on the ground. They are not at like a cow, where you can go up to them and touch them. I wish that they were free.

This is such a fascinating lens...we don't have this kind of tradition here; Anglo Saxon pagan traditions were well nigh wiped out by The Norman form of Christianity after 1066.

I don't think that we in England can adopt the animals and rituals from Native Americans ( although plenty are ) because quite plainly we have a different landscape, different animals, different climate etc. There is a great value in learning about this method, so that we can remember what has been lost, and feel our way towards being guided by our animals and land forms. I seem to have a relationship with dragonflies, as heralds of events, and they like to land and settle on me. I am still listening to what they might be saying.

I am not very familiar with animal totems but was very interested in your Elk page. Starting late fall through early spring we are visited multiple times a day by at least 150 Elk. The herd is amazing. They are slow and deliberate. They seem to be fearless of everything except of the mountain lion that follows them. They love to explore our patio, cars and anything near our house. They visit our horses and their water, hay and salt. We spend hours watching them. This was a very interesting lens. Thanks for sharing.

I was given a medicine bag with an elk bone on it, so I looked up the meaning of elk. Very glad i did, because I am in the beginning stages of a new project, so it reminded me to pase my self, and avoid burn out! Also another reminder about lighter eating habbits =D and not eating after dark, I like that idea, and to spend time with more time with the girls! =)

For christmas my brother made me a necklace with an elk antler, and a card that talks about elk medicine. Until tonight I haven't spent much time thinking about it. For some reason tonight I came across the card, received someting in the mail for elk, and saw several elk on TV. The card said to study elk eating habits and that is what brought me here. It was exactly what I needed. I have had a running of bad luck lately and have several projects going on and was getting quite stressed, and almost depressed. This helped me in a huge way!

I just did a power animal meditation and I discovered an Elk. This fits perfectly within my needs, I have several large projects coming up and need to pace myself.

This is all new to me - very interesting.
I was looking for an elk in Norway, last Christmas, but only found foot prints!

I have been working with animal totems for about seven years, originally i was guided by Hummingbird, today Elk was given to me as i was walking with my son in the woods. I only just got time to look up the meaning but its exactly what I need to hear!

If the Elk you see is thin and dissatisfied, it may be an indication that you are not 'nourishing' your 'inner Elk,' not paying enough attention to those Elk qualities in yourself and not doing what you need to do to embrace this particular aspect of power and nobility within yourself.

Try asking the Elk you see, "Brother, do you have a message for me?" and be open to hearing what information is given back to you. Keep a notebook next to your bed to write down anything that comes to you in dreams. If you ask with sincere intent, you will be given an answer.

Can someone tell me why i am seeing a very scary, thin elk ever now and then that seems to be head down ready to charge at me? I thought Elks are good omens. This one scares me!

    help.

This is a very nice lens. I will feature it on my Animal Spirit Totems lens. It is funny because except for my very first drum (which was goat skin) I am only lead to play an Elk Skin Drums. For me and the work I have done, it has always been very healing. To this day, if I get very unbalanced, I will sit quietly and play my drum. I have a picture of it one of my lens. Fav'ed, 5* and feature. Have a beautiful day!
