Elle MacPherson
Elle MacPherson at a Glance
The Story how Elle MacPherson was discovered sounds like the dream of many girls:
Elle Macpherson (; born 29 March 1963) is an Australian model, actress, and businesswoman. She is perhaps best known for her record five cover appearances for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue beginning in the 1980s. She is also known as the founder and primary model for a series of business ventures including Elle Macpherson Intimates, a lingerie line, and "The Body", a line of skin care products. According to Forbes, MacPherson possesses assets around 60 million pounds sterling.
Elle MacPherson - Model Career
Macpherson became an international star through her appearance in ELLE magazine. She appeared in every issue for six straight years. During this time she married (at age 21) ELLE creative manager Gilles Bensimon.
Eventually she gained even more exposure through Sports Illustrated magazine's annual swimsuit issue. She appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated a record four times, including three years in a row. She also modelled for lingerie giant Victoria's Secret.
By 1986, her popularity had increased sufficiently for Time magazine to run a cover entitled 'The Big Elle'.
The Edge Elle McPherson
A plane crash in the freezing Alaskan wilderness pits intellectual billionaire Charles Morse (Anthony Hopkins) against self-satisfied fashion photographer Robert Green (Alec Baldwin) in a brutal struggle for survival. Each soon discovers that the greatest danger resides not in nature, but from human fear, treachery, and quite possibly murder.

The Edge
This is a wonderful film that will keep the viewer totally absorbed. Written by the tremendously talented David Mamet (The House of Games, Oleanna), it is beautifully directed by the noted director Lee Tamahori (Once Were Warriors, Along Came a Spider). The film is a complex, fully fleshed story covering many themes, fully realized by a stellar cast. It also provides the viewer with breathtaking cinematography, as well as a compelling score written by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen).
The film focuses an a mild mannered, self-effacing, slightly paranoid billionaire, Charles Morse (Anthony Hopkins). A brilliant and well-read man with a penchant for esoteric knowledge, Morse is married to Mickey (Elle MacPherson), a young and beautiful, successful model. On location with her in a remote area of Alaska, she is surrounded by her young, fun loving camera crew, while he is seemingly the odd man out. He is astute enough, however, to sense that there are romantic undercurrents between his wife and her photographer, Robert Green (Alec Baldwin).
When Morse accompanies Robert on what was to be a short excursion into the Alaskan wilderness, looking for a local hunter to pose in the photo shoot, disaster looms ahead, and the test for the survival of the fittest begins. It is here that the superior mind and knowledge of Morse is put to the test, as they find themselves pitted against nature. Morse rises to the occasion, emerging as a natural leader, while his younger, fitter rival, Robert, is often at a loss as to how to cope in their peculiar situation. It is also through the emerging and changing conditions that they face, that their respective characters emerge. It is in the wilderness that they are both unmasked and emerge as their true selves.
This is a film that will keep the viewer enthralled. Anthony Hopkins has never been better as the quietly heroic Morse, and Alec Baldwin is excellent as the craven and duplicitous photographer who has cuckolded him. Elle MacPherson is luminous as the beautiful, young, trophy wife. The rest of the supporting cast, including the giant Kodiac bear, are also terrific. This is a superlative survival story that has something for everyone. Bravo! -- Lawyeraau (Balmoral Castle)

Elle MacPherson Nursing Bras
- This is the best nursing bra I have found so far. It is far superior to the bras I had when I had my first child 4 years ago.
Although it does not have underwire support, it is very supportive (even for my 38DD size). I switched to nonwire bras, when I found underwire bras to be uncomfortable (blocking milk ducts perhaps).
As an added bonus, although it is a full coverage bra, it is quite pretty. It has nice lace on the top, which looks like a pretty camisole under clothes.
Also, the 6 columns of hooks are fabulous! I now believe all bras should have more columns of hooks so we can get more wear out of them.
I would definately recommend this bra. It is more expensive than some others, but it is worth it! -- L. Tufts (St. John, IN)
- Having purchased a TON of nursing bra's--in all styles and prices-- while still pregnant, I can say without reservation that this one is the best.
Being large busted, but relatively small around (am normally a 32E, but am currently a 36E), it's very difficult to find bra's that provide adequate support, are comfortable, and that don't look like a granny-brasiere. Further, it's pretty much impossible to find a soft cup/non-underwire that does all of the above.
This bra is supportive, comfortable, pretty (the lace in the cleavage really does look like a cami under tops) and your breasts don't look like 'uni-boob.' One tip for new nursing moms: definitely don't use underwire bra's. I made that mistake at first (for the support) and got recurring mastitis--not fun AT ALL. -- Trader Joy (CA)
- This is the best nursing bra that I purchased. It took me a few tries to get it right, but when I finally found this one I purchased a few. The style and fabric is very supportative and I love the fact that it is not an underwire. My only negative comment is that it is not available in a nude or bone color. Every nursing mom should own this bra. It is well worth the price. One last suggestion...get properly fitted by a professional. -- New mom (Florida)
