Elmo Live arrived October 13, 2008 as a dancing, rapping, story telling and animatronic doll.

Elmo is equipped with 4 touch sensitive buttons that allow you to touch his foot, back, nose and stomach and get a different reaction.

Touch him on his back and his says the most lovable things which include asking for hugs or a scratch.

A warning here though the affordable price now will go thru the roof when supplies run low and my recommendation would be to get one now!

Most kids go crazy for him even though he is loud and his motor skills can be extreme.

Fisher Price has outdone themselves again.

*Elmo Live will automatically go to sleep when left unattended (saves battery life.

*Elmo Live has a built-in tilt sensor. (E.g. if he falls, he will ask you to help him get back up.)

*Elmo Live has touch sensors in his tummy, back, nose and left foot!

*Elmo Live features Animatronic style servos that animate his torso and shoulders.

* His legs have no actuators in them but they do appear to move when his torso lifts him in to standing position.

Every parent that has bought a toy for a child always wonders if it is the right toy to give and is it safe! Are their any loose or small parts that can come off and choke on? what's it made of? Is it poisonous? Will its movements hurt my child?

Well, the verdict is in Elmo Live wins.

Elmo is one big piece with no parts that come off. He passes the toxic tests that other products failed and as far as we know today he doesn't contain any other dangerous materials.

He does move so there is always a very small chance of a mishap but his gear strength is very low. So there is probably very little to worry about, when your child runs up and grabs him for hug while he is moving.

All in all Elmo Live can be said to be a pretty safe toy for a toddler or a grownup. Come on admit you would play with him, be a kid again.
