E-Logger Simple Electronic Tax Vehicle Logbook

An Extract from our National Budget:

"If you claim against a travel allowance, from March 1, 2010 you will not be able to use the deemed business kilometers method to calculate your claim. If you are required to use your own vehicle for business purposes, you will have to keep a logbook to claim business traveling expenses.

Before you did not need a logbook to claim - SARS has a formula (deemed business km) you use without you having to prove that you did business km. Now it looks like from next year, you have to have that logbook - I think this is great marketing tool for you."

"One of the most significant proposals contained in the budget review is the scrapping of the deeming provisions allowed in determining business travel - and thereby the tax-free portion of any travel allowance paid by employees.

It is proposed that the deeming provisions be abolished as from the 2010/2011 tax year. Although taxpayers who do actual business travel will still be able to claim business travel expenses, taxpayers who presently benefit from applying the deeming provisions, will certainly be worse off. In order to obtain tax relief in future, you will have to keep an accurate record of your business travel and all expenses incurred in relation to your vehicle."

E-logger is an electronic unit, GPS based and utilize satellite linkage to ensure accurate position and distance data measurement

Your E-logger comes complete with all the hardware and software to ensure you are able to keep an accurate Vahicle Logbook to gain maximum benefit from your Car Allowance.

In your pack you will receive the E-logger Unit, a 12VDC Power Adaptor, USB Data Cable, LED Mode Indicator, 32MB Micro SD Card and the E-logger Software for easy linkup to your PC.

The unit has a built in vibration detection sensor and will start logging as soon as the vehicle is moving. Al you have to do is log the distance travelled as Private or Business by pushing the button on the E-Logger Unit.

All the E-logger Units are imported from the East, but they were designed in RSA and have gone through all the tests neccesary to ensure your unit will be of the highest quality.

All the E-logger units will be available in RSA on +- 20 January 2010, but pre-orders are welcome if you are concerned that you might not get your unit in time. Do not delay as 1 March is kreeping up faster and faster. Remember that the more accurate your Vehicle Logbook is, the better your chances of claiming proper business km's and the better your chances of claiming full benefit from your Travel Allowance.
