A Tribute to the King
I love the Christmas season, from the thinking stage in August to packing the last Christmas Ornament away in January. Of all the traditions that are popular today, decorating the Christmas Tree is my favorite. I have Santa Ornaments, Snowflakes, Angels, birds, Harry Potter... They may not all be heirlooms, nor are they old, but they carry a story. Decorating the Christmas Tree is akin to a trip down memory lane, and tucked in with my Snowflakes, Santas, and Angels are several Elvis Christmas Ornaments.
Elvis Presley. Elvis. We don't even have to mention his last name. Everyone knows Elvis. He is the "King of Rock and Roll."

Elvis Presley was one of the most popular American singers of the 20th century. He was often referred to, and still is, the "King of Rock and Roll." I remember spending Saturday afternoons with my cousins watching Elvis movies on TV. We would giggle and gush but what really had us rolling on the floor and laughing was my aunt. She would put her hand over her heart, gaze upward with her eyes half-closed and sigh his name. While we enjoyed the re-runs and the "old" music, it was my mother's generation that turned him into an icon.

I love Christmas, the magic and the wonder of it all. Friends and family come together to celebrate the joy of the season. Part of that fun is decorating the Christmas tree. We make a day of it. There's eggnog and laughter along with the ornaments and the lights.
It surprises me sometimes to see how much of my personality, my son's and my husband's personality is tucked among the branches when we are done. My husband has his Three Stooges Ornaments, my oldest son has a collection of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Ornaments, and my youngest son prefers his Harry Potter Ornaments. Me...well I have my Angles, Betty Boop, and of course Elvis.

- I didn't become an Elvis fan until the early 70s. I like his later work better than the early stuff. Great ornaments to pay tribute to Elvis. Love your tree! Lensroll to ALL my ornament lenses.
