Elvis for My Mom

I am building this lens in honor of my mother. She is an Elvis fan through and through. My brother and I grew up listening to mostly Elvis.
Finding a gift for mom was never a problem, as long as it had to do with Elvis. Over the years I've given her figurines, a clock, coffee mugs, postcards, cassette tapes and CD's, even a Wal Mart gift card inside an Elvis card box.

I had a chance in 1994 to visit Graceland. Just that visit gave me an even deeper appreciation for Elvis. I hope to take my children and grandchildren to visit some time in the near future.

I hope you will enjoy what I have chosen to include here. There is a LOT about Elvis.

Ya just gotta love Elvis. I used to love to sing Ain't Nothin But A Hound Dog when I was young. Of course, I never sounded anything like Elvis but thought I had his moves down. lol

I'm a fan of the early Elvis before his manager led him down the wrong path. He changed the world of music. I've also made a lens on his life from his birth in 1935 to 1960: http://www.squidoo.com/elvis-presley-early-years.

    Enjoyed my visit,
    Mike.

I was pretty young when Elvis died so I never really got into being a fan. This is a great tribute to a remarkable superstar.

I have a 2 martini story that starts off with a former boss of mine, who was an Elvis look-a-like who also told me that he once worked for the Memphis Mafia...I mean, I guess he could have...at the time I believed him (I was 20 and gullible)...I believed him for about 6 months until while shopping I saw the same gold TCB lightening bolt necklace the "king" apparently gave him being sold in multiples at a mall in Hamilton Ontario...LOL...thank ya, thank ya very much! ;o)
