Elvis Impersonators - The King's Tribute Artists
Ranked #4,570 in Music, #127,406 overall
The Art of Becoming Elvis
Elvis impersonators from Vegas to Hong Kong put all their heart and soul into performances entertaining the public (and themselves). You can't not smile at an Elvis.
While some become Elvis impersonators for a day, others devote their lives to becoming Elvis. We love them all!
For the record, the plural of Elvis is Elvi. And, a female Elvis is an Elvira.

Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist
Pennsylvania man Shawn Klush has been named the "ultimate Elvis tribute artist" in the first-ever tournament for Elvis impersonators sanctioned by Elvis Presley's estate.

The Flying Elvi
As seen in "Honeymoon in Vegas"
The "Flying ELVI" is a ten member skydiving team first featured in the fun filled hit movie "Honeymoon in Vegas." They combine a spine tingling aerial skydiving performance of smoke trails, pyrotechnic fireworks, and precision maneuvers with an over-the-top entertaining stage show.Jumping from altitudes of 5,000-12,500 feet above the earth, they free-fall for up to 9,500 feet at speeds ranging from 120 to 160 miles per hour. Team members are all United States Parachute Association Pro rated skydivers with an average of over 2,000 jumps each. Having thrilled audiences at events across the country for the past nine years, these daredevils of the sky are more popular than ever, and bring a bit of nostalgia to every event as they inspire fond memories of the King himself, Elvis Presley.

Elvis Impersonators in the Movies
Many movies have showcased Elvis Impersonators. These are our favorites.
The Spirit
In addition to paying Elvis respect, being an Elvis impersonator is about the feeling it gives to the impersonator and the audience. Sometimes the impersonator enjoys the event way more then the audience. As seen by Moose Nuckle Elvis --->
Books About Elvis Impersonators
Are you an Elvis impersonator, or do you just love them?
Either way, these books are a lot of fun.
Either way, these books are a lot of fun.
Congratulations!
To Trent Carlini
Elvis Tribute Artist Trent Carlini was named the winner of ABC's The Next Best Thing, a reality TV celebrity impersonator contest. Refered to as "Heartbreak Elvis" Trent beat out several other Elvi, as well as Lucille Balls, Barbara Streisands, Jackie Gleasons, Chers, Tina Turners, Little Richards, Robin Williams, and many more.
A respectful nod goes to Elvis impersonator Donny Edwards, dubbed "Bluesuede Elvis", who came in third (behind Frank Sinatra impersonator Sebastian Anzaldo).
These tribute artists were far more talented then any of the judges of this show, and were far more entertaining (unless really bad and unnecessary puns are your thing).

- I'd like to say that performing as Elvis on stage is one of the best honors i could ever have. With that said have been doing my tribute for over 23 years and have never and will never do any Elvis type competition .I don't think i am any better or worse than any out there and most of all i am not trying to be Elvis !! I am a entertainer and enjoy my work and with the love for the King that i have i want to help and keep his memory alive for as long as God will let me .There is just so many out there who could care less how they sound or perform on stage, but my opinion is a lot of these really want to be Elvis.,so they don't really care. Some one once asked me if i thought i was Elvis and after laughing a lot i said ..''Do you think Sean Connery thinks hes really James Bond? '' Would you ask any actor or entertainer if he is really the character he is portraying ? Anyway in closing i just wanted to voice my opinion for what its worth. The entertainers who perform the Elvis tribute please do it from the heart as i do and you will be rewarded as i have many times over . Thanks....Joe Elvis Borelli

- I agree with kab, most impersonators are sincerely paying tribute. That's not to say they are all doing a good job at that. :> But like any large group of people, it's a mix, some are good vocalists, some are just wigglin around in a white suit and a wig, some are dead serious, some have a lot of fun. No matter what, the real Elvis apparently found it all amusing while he was still with us, and I don't see that there's any danger of "replacing" him. It's all in fun, relax!

- I believe that 95% of Elvis Tribute Artists are not trying to make fun of Elvis, but rather pay homage to him.

- Can anyone tell me of another entertainer, who has passed away, who is made such fun of? I can't! The only reason I can think of is that Elvis was simply such a huge entertainer that he became a very easy target for the 'unintelligent' ones out there to poke fun of. It's sooooooo tedious! Enough! There will only be one Elvis. Watch and listen to HIM and no one else. Behave!!

- Love it! I've seen/met several and they are a great bunch of guys usually.
Many impersonators will be in Memphis soon for Elvis Week. It's the 30th anniversary of his death, so it will be a big time. For more info, including other things to do in Memphis, visit my Give Me Memphis lens.

- I enjoy Elvis Impersonators but the funny thing is even though they all look alike...none of them ever really look much like Elvis! I guess why he was the King. Personally I'll never forgive him for dying so early on us.
