How to Email Ebay Customer Service

Finding Ebay's Email Address... secret instructions*

It took me 35 minutes of waiting around on Ebay Live Help to find the instructions on how to email Ebay!!

I don't think you should have to tie up your time, so here are the instructions that Ebay Live Help gave me.

By the way, Ebay live help gave me this info because they couldn't solve my problem!!

Why does Ebay make it so hard to contact them?

I don't think that it should be so hard, so here it is, making it simple for you!

If you buy on Ebay, you are helping Ebay's business. On the occasion when you need help, you should be able to get help too!

* These instructions aren't really secret. I probably could have found a page with the email ebay button on it by looking around ebay for hours more, but why should YOU have to waste your time?

2/8/2011 - Ebay changed things yet again

So my directions no longer work. Therefore, I think you should follow the link below to directions that DO work.

New ebay seller terms. So as I understand it, after selling on ebay for 12 years with a 100% feedback rating, I will NO LONGER qualify for any discounts, unless I offer and maintain ONE DAY shipping and a 14 day return policy? Ebay is going to loose my $4000.00 a month in business. Anyone know of another great selling platform besides ebay?

come on GUYS!!!! How hard is it to give a link?????? i just dont bother with you if i can avoid it!
  • poopy May 5, 2012 @ 10:47 am | delete
Ebay is charging me for my seller account more than I made on the item I sold. I would have just taken it to goodwill if I knew I'ld loose money on the whole thing

A new word for "Poor Customer Service" is EBay...period!
Oh! One more thing. If you feel like getting kicked around, become a seller on EBay....Not a good experience. Not even close!
Check out other auction sites to sell you wares, I am.

Good morning. I have had two experiences with ebay this year and both have had problems. In November I bid on and got a mantle. Over two months later, the seller had not sent the item. Only after my son got involved and made arrangements for shipping did I receive it. The sellers seemed to only want to do business with people within their state or region. IF a seller does not want to sell to someone in another part of the country, that should be specified on their info.

Then I bid on an item last week and put in the final bid, confirmed bid, and then find out I did NOT get it. I have emailed, to no avail, and wanted to understand why I was not the winner. It registered on my email that I was the last. No answer from you. Not a good way to encourage future participants nor is it businesslike. I am disappointed, not angry. Thank you.

Impossible to contact them today. All I was able to do was choose the nearest topic and complaint and a report was sent however this did not enable me to explain to them the real issue I was having with a seller.
  • Kelibath May 14, 2012 @ 3:21 pm | delete
I just had the same problem. What's more, on trying to make a report, the link-to page came back as false.

E-Bay used to be a great place to sell. Many regular people selling things. Today, it is a full on Retail Market place, and a few regular people still selling. You used to be able to send money orders, or other payment options. The, E-Bay buys PayPal and now you are forced to have a PayPal Account for any payments. The pricing is as much if not more than just going to the store in your area. There is ZERO Customer Service, and disputes are always settled where E-Bay and PayPal make out best. I stopped selling or buying from E-Bay, and never will again.

It's a shame that you've stopped buying or selling on Ebay. Despite their problems with customer service, I still like the site. I sell and buy on Ebay. It is still a great place to find obscure stuff - it just takes a little more digging. Since I like Ebay, I honestly hope that Ebay sees this page and makes it easier for people to call or email them and get real solutions. I was going to start selling with a new account but I ran into a problem and it wasn't worth my time trying to contact Ebay customer service to fix it. I can only imagine how much business Ebay has lost because of this happening. Sending out enticing offers, like "list for free" only goes so far.....

signed up (and paid) for an ebay store so I could also get Omniture reports. 6 days later access still not possible. Authorisation and page not found error that eBay says is an Omniture problem not an ebay problem - no one seems to do anything to fix it. I ring ebay every day and they keep telling me to wait till they get an answer from the technical people - seems the "tech support" at ebay and Omniture is non existent

I have noticed that the auction searcher does not find all my active listings. It was necessary for me to liquidate immediately this problem, but I could not communicate instantly with a support service as I did not know as to send the message. My sales have stopped. I have suffered losses. It is a nightmare!

Topic:PayPa'sl unauthrized 21 day hold of my, and other users, funds.

Can you imagine Wells Fargo implementing a similar policy and withholding ones deposited funds for up 21 days until their credit cards, utilities, etc., were paid and the transaction completed? They'd be out of business in a week. Or they'd be sued out of business shortly thereafter, which is my hope for PP.

I never authorized PP to withhold MY money for any reason whatsoever. I've been selling the exact same two items on eBay for many years without a problem. All of the sudden you have to withhold MY money. I never authorized PP to do this. I would love to know the name of the genius who came up with this idea.

PP has instantly gone from providing all that is right with e-commerce to creating a practice that turned it into all that is bad about e-commerce.

I'm looking for alternative payment options for my eBay customers such as Google Checkout and Direct Pay.

I've cut and pasted PP's terms of use and sent it to the CA Attorney General and Secretary of State for review and asked them if it's legal for PP to do this. Hopefully in this case illegal and stupid converge.

Just want to do my tiny little part to start a class action suit or thousands of small claims court cases across the country against PP for unnecessarily holding MY, and countless others, money hostage and damaging my ability to perform best business practices for my eBay (in essence, your) customers.

I'm posting an easy 1-2-3 steps link for filing a small claims case against PP on all social media outlets for everyone that has had this done to them and is not happy about it. It varies from state-to-state, but is generally quite simple and cheap to file.

Hope it was worth it, PP.

Mark me down for the class action suit. Isn't that what Well's Fargo used to do with deposits? Now it is the law that $100 has to be immediately available. Check with your lawyer, what ebay is doing may be illegal. It is your money after all

They are BAD> Nobody listens to you when you talk to them. I hope another auction site comes around because EBAY customer service is the worse people I have ever delt with.
  • Marion23 Feb 27, 2012 @ 12:51 pm | delete
Thanks for a good lens. Ebay may be hard to contact, but then there are others whom it's easy to contact and who do reply, but the replies don't help at all because they don't address your question. I find that rather frustrating. Anyone else who has this problem?
  • hotbrain Feb 29, 2012 @ 2:06 am | delete
I know what you mean..... They give you the runaround. It is very frustrating. When a company does that, I won't give them any more of my business.
  • Ebayfan_Iwas Feb 22, 2012 @ 7:33 am | delete
It seems that your solution & form now also gets a nice automated message ! It's so frustration I spend nearly 2 hours resolving an issue via 2 x phone calls and in reply I recieve an automated message which ... you guessed it ... has not solved a thing. So now I cannot even email them any further and the thought of spending anymore time on this is complete madness. We are HUMAN, please ebay this is torture ! After 8 years of lovin' you i think about leaving you now ... so sad !
  • hotbrain Feb 29, 2012 @ 4:00 am | delete
It is so sad... I still am an Ebay seller and a pretty happy one. But fortunately I haven't needed to contact them lately. I tried to start selling on another Ebay account and ran into problems... So I gave up because it wasn't worth my time. I can see why people think selling on Ebay is hard! If the customer support were better they would have more business!

eBay's support system is terrible. I spent time writing an email, looking for an email address or form, then found and used the about.com form and got the below automated reply from eBay saying to go through the call process. If I wanted to call I would have done that to begin with. No I want to use email. This is 2011 and I thought it was eBay not phoneBay.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting eBay Customer Service. To serve you in the best
possible way, we would like to speak to you on the phone. Here's how to
    reach us:

    1. Click the "Customer Support" link at the top right of most eBay
    pages.
    2. Click the "Contact eBay" tab and sign in.
    3. Select the topic that fits your question or concern. If your issue is
not resolved with the information provided, please click the "Call us"
link. You'll see a phone number and a PIN to use. The PIN expires within
15 minutes, so if you're not able to call us within that timeframe,
please click the "Call us" link again for a new PIN.

If you're deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired, please contact us
    through an IP relay service.

Our representatives are available 5:00 am-10:00 PST pm, 7 days a week.
We look forward to helping you.

    Thanks,
    eBay

Please don't reply to this message. It was sent from an address that
    doesn't accept incoming email.
  • hotbrain Feb 15, 2012 @ 1:53 am | delete
That is ridiculous! Thanks for letting me, and everyone else, know. I HATE those emails that say, "please don't reply to this email!"
