Why
Any form of advertising has to be visible and Embroidered Promotional Clothing certainly is: Think of clothing as a mobile billboard and no matter how you intend to inform or influence your target market, with the right choices there's an item of embroidered clothing that can help carry your promotional message far and wide.
When
Promotional Clothing can be used for clients, prospective clients, staff members or distributors. It can also be sold, as branded merchandise to raise revenue but whatever the circumstances, make sure the item of clothing is suitable for what you want to promote and for your target market.
Next, ensure you allow sufficient time to make the arrangements - the better planned the promotion is, the greater the chance of success. Unless the logo or brand has been embroidered onto clothing before it is best to allow yourself a month or so before the promotion is due to begin - this will give you chance to get everything ready in good time for the promotion to begin.

How
1) Once you have decided on a budget for your embroidered clothing (per item or for the total promotion) and determined what's appropriate for your target market, speak with potential suppliers to determine what's available and see what ideas they can come up with.
2) Choose two or three potential suppliers (looking for those with a proven track record or good references) and advise them of the brief - try to give as much information as possible, such as colours, logos, the target market, lead-time and (if possible) the budget you have in mind - the best suppliers will want to impress you with value for money and offer promotional clothing that provides the best specification possible within your budget. Shortlist those suppliers that fit the bill and order a sample/samples of the clothing you are interested in - some suppliers will want to charge for samples, others will provide them on a Sale or Return basis.
3) Select a supplier and place your purchase order for your Embroidered Promotional Clothing by email/post, confirming all details in writing (as clearly as possible), along with images of the logo/s to be embroidered onto the clothing in a high resolution .JPG image, details of any Pantone colour references to be matched, plus the lead-time and the address the clothing is to be delivered to. The better the quality of information you provide at this stage the better the chances of success - don't leave anything to chance.
4) Most suppliers will provide an embroidered swatch, so that you can approve the embroidery (size, colours and layout) before production of your clothing begins but if time is tight they will sometimes send a 'virtual sample' which is a picture of the finished embroidery.
If you are happy, then approve the sample for production and ask the supplier to confirm how long production will take.
5) Expect a call or email from your supplier to inform you how your embroidered garments are progressing and again, when your promotional clothing is despatched.
With the support of a professional supply partner, your embroidered promotional clothing should be delivered on time, ready to begin advertising your company or brand for years to come.
