What this lens is not

I hope you noticed my picture here.  You may be shocked to know that I am over 40.  But this lens is not about me or my bodybuilding.  I have a passion for survival solutions and emergency preparedness, which is where my motivation comes from to stay in top physical condition.  This lens is not about how to build muscle either.  This lens is not about stockpiling.  This lens is not about hoarding.

An idea for your radios

Stay Safe With Two-Way Radios In Emergency Situations

Two-way radios can help keep your family safe during an emergency situation. Because disasters strike with little warning, they can cause panic, causing families to become separated. Whether it's a storm, flood, earthquake, or tornado, staying in touch can be a matter of life and death.

Before an emergency hits, put together a plan. Add 2-way radio handsets to your 72 hour survival kits, along with extra batteries. Decide which channel to use for communicating and make sure everyone knows it. Then practice what everyone should do when an emergency strikes. By following the plan, your family members can remain connected through any emergency.

Lightweight and easy to carry, walkie-talkies or two way radios are perfect for everyday communication and for keeping your family safe during emergency situations.

The Complete 72 Hour Emergency Kit

Remember a 72 Hour kit is for the purpose of surviving. It can not have all the luxuries that we would sometimes like, but it needs to have the items necessary. Therefore an easy carrying backpack is ideal. It will not allow you to pack more than you can carry, but if you plan well, there is enough room to hold the necessary items to survive.

Each person needs to have their own kit. It is possible that family members could get separated, and each member needs to have some supplies with them personally. If walking, a child would not be able to carry very much for a very long period of time, but does need to have some items that would help them survive. A larger, more extensive family kit may be added to your preparations, but should be kept separate from the 72 Hour individual kit that is expected to be carried.

Learn why our 72 hour kits are the best 72 hour kits ever.

Hurricane Season

Preparing for the Worst During Hurricane Season

One thing that we can be sure of is that hurricane season will come every year. During these months any number of coastal towns and cities can be affected. Preparing in advance is what can make the difference in one's chances of surviving.

We all saw the devastation that Hurricane Katrina caused to the residents of New Orleans and surrounding cities. Many people were left with nothing and could only pray that help would arrive quickly.

Having a complete 72 hour kit can make a huge difference when facing such disasters. It will give you peace of mind knowing that you have the necessary items to sustain you and your family until help can arrive.

Being Prepared is the First Step to Survival

We read and hear about earthquakes all the time. The devastation they leave behind can often be catastrophic. People can be left with out food, water and shelter for days or even weeks.

During times like that, a 72 hour kit can provide the basic needs to sustain someone till help can arrive. 72 hour earthquake kits can provide peace of mind to someone dealing with the destruction left behind by an earthquake.

Nice lens. I too have a lens about emergency survival kits. You've got a lot of good content here. I live in the Pacific Northwest where we get a lot of extreme weather as well as earthquakes and volcanoes. For years, I was a member of the Dept. of Emergency Mgt. for our county. I've seen many bad situations where if people had done a little preparation, they could have greatly reduced the impact of their situation.
