I am ending the whirlwind tour of exchange traded funds with Emerging Market etfs.
There is plenty to choose from - small countries,
huge countries, and anything in between.
However, a word of warning - scan the major holdings of a given etf - often you will find such a heavy weight of one country, or of particular industries, that the name and stated purpose of an ETF are at odds with reality of its holdings.

Emerging Markets ETFs

VWO - Vanguard's Emerging Market Stock ETF - seeks to track the performance of the MSCI Emerging Markets index which contains approximately 840 common stocks of companies located in emerging markets around the world.

ADRE - large cap emerging markets companies.

EEB - tracks BNY BRIC index which is comprised of American depositary receipts ("ADRs") and global depositary receipts ("GDRs") selected, companies based on liquidity, from a universe of all listed depositary receipts of companies from BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) currently trading on U.S. exchanges.

When emerging markets fall...

Emerging markets tend to be very volatile. Corrections tend to be fast and deep - 20-30% drops are normal.
There are two ways to profit from these inevitable corrections.
One way is to short the ETFs of emerging markets.
However, most people do not like shorting stocks or ETFs since there is, potentially, unlimited loss ( when you buy long, the most you can lose is entire investment if the stock goes to 0. But when you short a stock at say $20, the stock can climb to $30, or $50, or $200 - the size of potential loss is huge.)
For those who do not like selling ETFs short,
there is an ETF that is an inverse of the emerging markets - when emerging market stocks go up, it goes down. But when emerging market stocks fall,
the etf gains. The ticker symbol is EEV.
EEV is pretty new ( started in Nov 2007) but it already has large ( hundreds of thousands per day) trading volume - no wonder, given the general direction of the markets during 1st quarter of 2008.
