The Emily the Strange Movie
scheduled to be released in 2010
Emily the Strange is slated to come to the big screen in 2010 courtesy of 20th Century Fox . Emily will be brought to life by Fox Animation, using a mix of live-action photography and CG-animation. The storyline is being kept under wraps, however, it has been reported that it will tell the origin of the gothic figure and her four mysterious cats - troublemaker Sabbath, schemer Nee-Chee, imaginative Miles and leader Mystery. 13 new characters will also be introduced in the movie. The Emily and Rosamond Debate
Rumors began circulating amoung many blogs in December of 2008 that Cosmic Debris stole the character of Emily from the "Nate the Great" character Rosamond. Both Emily and Rosamond have long black hair and cats and are both strange. You can see the similarities in the images above. You can read Rob Reger of Cosmic Debris response here. The author of the "Nate the Great' books, Marjorie Weinman Sharmat, 80, and the illustrator, Marc Simont, 93, have yet to comment. The possibility of a potential lawsuit is still unknown.
