Emma Roberts has quite a list of accomplishments for a young lady that just recently celebrated her 20th birthday. Born into Hollywood royalty as the daughter of Eric Roberts and the niece of Julia Roberts, Emma's film career began at age nine and she has been busy ever since. Not only an actress, the multi-talented Emma Roberts is also a singer, spokesmodel, designer, and guitarist. Emma is reported to be the leading candidate to play Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man 4 set to be released in 2012.

Emma Roberts was born in Rhinebeck, New York, United States. She is the biological daughter of actor Eric Roberts (who was born in Biloxi, Mississippi but raised in Atlanta, Georgia) and his then-girlfriend Kelly Cunningham. Emma Roberts is the stepdaughter of Eliza Roberts and the niece of actresses Julia Roberts and Lisa Roberts Gillan. She has two stepsiblings, Morgan and Keaton Simons.Roberts attended Archer School for Girls in Brentwood, California from 2004-2005 for 7th and 8th grade. Emma said in a 2007 interview on her education that: "Oh yes, I have a tutor and we have three hours of school every day. That way I am caught up on my work and then when I am not doing school work I am shooting something or other." Roberts had shown interest in attending two colleges in New York: Sarah Lawrence College and New York University.
During her childhood, Emma spent a lot of time on the sets of the films in which her aunt Julia Roberts was starring. These experiences sparked a desire in Roberts, from the age of five, to follow her father and aunts into the film industry. Although her mother initially wanted her to have a normal childhood, Roberts made her acting debut at age nine in Ted Demme's 2001 drama Blow. It was the first film for which she ever auditioned. In the film she portrayed Kristina Jung, the daughter of Johnny Depp's character, cocaine smuggler George Jung.
