 1) The Changemaker High Energy Diet includes food program tips and guidelines. From these food ideas, you will design your weight loss plan around the food that you most enjoy. Portion control is the only guideline that we advocate. This means counting the calories. To help you design your plan, we recommend developing an extensive list of 100-200 servings of all your favorite foods. Don't sabotage yourself by including foods that you know you won't control. I haven't had cereal in my home for 5 years because I know I will eat it until it is empty.

2) A modified exercise program will be chosen by you from five exercise books that teach you how to exercise. Also included are references to tests that should be taken before, after, and during exercise.

3) Mental techniques from many sources are included to begin helping you to listen to your negative self-talk.

4) Emotional support is giving by teaching deep breathing, meditation, becoming centered to begin helping you to learn how to substitute relaxation for stress. Everyone experiences stress but staying in the stressful state is a choice.

5) The Changemaker Personality Profile Test is included was an 80 page ebook that includes all the 25 personality labels for the test. With this information, you can help others to better understand themselves. The test includes NLP (neurolinguistic programming), MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator), family roles, emotional energy types, and birth order.

6) The basic goal of the Changemaker Program is to help you to help others. The best gift I have received during my recovery that began in 1976 is the ability to forget about myself while helping others. So the plan includes techniques to help you set up your own small groups. In the phenomenal change in Protestant religion today happening in the United States and throughout the world is the realization that we need small groups--the community--to feel connected.

7) All these tools will be what we will used in weight loss sessions if you decide to continue with Emotional Eater's Diet. The sessions have emotional, mental, physical (food and exercise), meditation, relaxation, as well as individual topics techniques. The individual topics are unique with each session.

8) All Changemaker products are available at www.kathyberman.com.

10 Unconventional Diet Tips

How to Lose 50 pounds in three months

This web post is by Kyle Pott who lost 50 pounds in 2006. These tips I mostly believe in. As a former counselor, the only one I'd change on a case-to-case basis is telling everyone or anyone. Some very overweight people have lost his/her credibility with all possible support members. Instead I'd suggest to these dieters to wait to tell others until after weight loss happens. Weight loss should begin within 7-10 if the dieter is applying any of these diet tips from any of the resources available on this Squidoo lens.

How to Eat

The Definitive Guide to Better Living Through Biology

These suggestions are from Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. Michael Rozen from their book, You: On a Diet. These excerpts are from their Esquire article in the May 2007 issue. I knew it was great guidance after I had read the first few pages because they wrote:
"We didn't want the word diet on the cover. (Our Book) is about changing the way you eat and focusing on neglected parts of your body, the ones no one has told you to think about until now."

The only part I'm going to include on this lens is a recap of the diagrams used to teach you how to eat.
For breakfast (they also recommend as Changemaker does that you not eat until you are hungry)--fiber or protein( 60-70%) with coffee, nuts, water, fruit juice and something spicy. The heat in something spicy triggers the release of CCK-the chemical that closes your stomach's gates.

Lunch--50% should be vegetables (maybe salad--but use only low-calorie ones--Paul Newman has a good low fat sesame ginger. Also include protein, water and grains.

Dinner--Vegetables 60% and add protein, fiber and water. Skip alcohol until after dinner as it reduces your ability to register satiety.

Great lens. I agree that you should eat more vegetable, fruit and nuts. You could not only lose weight with these, but you will get essential nutrients and vitamins from these sources.

About kberman

Having been born in 1940, and
having loved several of my lives before, I am now living my perfect life.
Through the generosity of my husband, I am able to write, edit and research the
topics I have been studying or living for most of my life.

My husband and I live in South Florida on a freshwater canal near Fort Lauderdale. He is an avid bass fishermen so with his four sons,
he spends many happy hours exploring the Everglades from our canal. He remains my biggest cheerleader and the love of my
life.

Having been a teacher and
counselor in addiction/mental health, I learned that most people love to learn
about themselves. I realized that many of the labels used by counselors are
unknown to all the people who never attend therapy. So I took these labels and
developed a short test that will teach anyone 10 of his/her labels.

My test, called the
Changemaker Test, offers education for self-discovery as I believe that change
within a person involves the courage to see (insight) and the courage to act (action).
Therefore by using the labels to change themselves, the changemaker is the
person who decides to learn and make the change happen.

You can buy either the ebook for a hard copy of all
the information or you can buy a password-protected blog which has the same
information as the ebook but is immediately interactive. You can buy either one
through Pay Pal (an Ebay company). You don't have to belong to Pay Pal to use
it. The products are for sale at Changemaker:
Change Your Life.
