Emperor Penguins in Anartica

Emperor penguins live in Anartica. Emperor penguins do not make a nest. When the mother penguin has an egg she holds it on top of her feet to keep it off the freezing ice. Then she transfers the egg to the top of the dad's feet and she goes out to sea to feed. The dad keeps the egg on his feet through out the winter until the egg hatches. The tiny baby would freeze if it stood on the ice so it stays on the dad's feet until the mom returns. Then the baby stays on mom's feet until it is big enough to live alone in the cold.

I made all the Polaroid pictures here while watching Planet Earth on the Discovery Channel on TV. The fascinating story of the penguin life cycle captivated me so I have seen it 4 times.
