Our subconscious mind

They say that the conscious mind is logical and analytical. They say that the subconscious mind is illogical. We do certain things out of conscious mind, but most out of subconscious mind.

Our subconscious mind believes that anything it perceives is true and real. Here is a way to explain the subconscious mind:

Imagine that you are holding a lemon on your palm and then holding the palm in front of your face so as to see the lemon. You will immediately experience your mouth watering. The conscious mind knows that there is no lemon and that it is only an imagination. The sub conscious mind is illogical and immediately believes what is in the mind and as a result your mouth waters.

Did you try the excercise? Try it now, it really works. It is important to note that our subconscious mind does exactly the same with our thoughts.

Our subconscious mind takes our thoughts as existing reality.

In the course of our life growing up as kids, we made judgements. And some of them may be at a time when we were small kids and did not have the capability to truly judge the situations. But based on our kid's brain, we did learn and we did pass some important judgements about dos and don'ts in life. You passed judgements about yourself and about people and situations around you. Our subconscious mind registered all of it and perceives it as reality.

Do you see how important it is what we think? By influencing what we read, who we associate with, what we listen to and how we act, we feed our mind - the conscious thinking machine - which in turn has great impact on our subconscious mind, the foundation of our well-being. Our well-being, again, will be the fertile ground for positive and self-empowering thoughts.

- Accept yourself. Don't underestimate your strengths or be afraid to try something new, but be realistic about your limits.

- Define a clear set of core personal values. Let these always be your guide, especially when facing unchartered territory. Be sure your actions are guided by reason and what you truly believe.

- Take ownership of your actions. If you have success, then celebrate it. If you fail or owe someone an apology, admit it and move forward.
