How to create a S.M.A.R.T. goal

In order for self hypnosis to work you've got to have a goal you want to achieve. And the best way to create that goal is the S.M.A.R.T. way.

The letters S.M.A.R.T stand for:

Specific.
Measurable.
Affect.
Realistic.
Timed


Your Goal
Specific- must not be vague.
Measurable- you must be able to know when you've achieved it.
Affect -must affect you emotionally in some way.
Realistic- it must be something you can control.
Timed- you must set a time in which to achieve it.

Empowering Yourself: How To Prepare Yourself For Hypnosis




Write it down
After you have decided on your goal you need to write it down, ideally on an index card. When writing remember to:

Keep it short
keep it simple
keep it in the first person
keep it in the present tense
keep it positive

Make it easy to remember
Ideally you should be able to write down your goal in 15 words or less. Imagining your are sending a text, or posting on Twitter can be a great help in doing this.

Empowering Yourself: Putting Yourself Into A Trance

In order to put yourself into a trance you need to take the following steps.


#1 Set some time aside where you will not be disturbed for at least 10 minutes. (If you can set the same time aside every day it will best.)


#2 Make yourself nice and comfortable.


#3 Get out your index card and read through your goal at least 5 maybe 10 times or as many times as you think is necessary. Read nice and slowly and think very carefully about the meaning behind the words you have written down.


#3 Set an alarm for 10 minutes.


#4 Next pick a spot on the wall in front of you, just above your eye level. Keep staring at that spot until you feel a slight strain in your eyes. When you feel that strain just close your eyes and let yourself relax.


#5 Now just relax and imagine you have achieved your goal. Imagine how you  FEEL now that you have achieved your goal.


Just follow the same 5 steps every day until you have achieved your goal.

    I took a hypnosis class, but do not like the thought of controlling others with it. I like to use it for past life regresssion, future life progression or reprogramming the subconcious.
