I love this series and I have added this to the choices for June's book in my reading group. A great page and I hope that other people will come to enjoy this trilogy as I have. :)

Your clip art is a weird choice -- did you notice that the Mijaki are dark-skinned? I think you did not!

Does the skin color of a fictional character really matter? The Mijaki could have been dark purple in a work of fantasy and it wouldn't have made any difference in the storyline of the book which is what I have reviewed here. Since I read this book on my Kindle there were no illustrations to give me an idea of what Hekat looked like. The clipart matched closely what my mind conjured up while reading the words in this wonderful book. I'm sure your mind pictured her in a different way altogether. Are either of us wrong? I think not. The color of a person's skin does not matter to me in life or in reading a book of fiction...I would hope that it matters not to you also.
