Erosion of Civil Rights
Friends, we are living in dangerous times, where those liberties for which we have so passionately fought are being slowly and systematically repressed, yet we are barely noticing. I often hear people say that it is necessary to "compromise" a little, to be "flexible" with our rights in order to protect ourselves from terrorism. Yet, we have lost sight of those things that represent a true threat to democracy. And what is a "little" compromise anyway?
THOSE WHO LOVE FREEDOM SHOULD NEVER, EVER, COMPROMISE THEIR RIGHTS. We can not afford to be "flexible" with our liberty. Once we start down that path it is a slippery slope, as we are already seeing. The founding fathers of this country foresaw the possibility of this danger and placed protections within the government's structure. But those barriers are being danced around and slowly removed.
Freedom is NOT a partisan issue! Liberty involves everyone! If you have concerns about democracy in America and would like more information, here is a list of books and links to help you become better informed. Please, don't take my word for it. Own responsibility, get informed, and take action NOW, before it is too late.

- Give Me Liberty: A Handbook for American Revolutionaries

- In Defense of Our America
- Using the stories of real Americans on the frontlines of the fight for civil liberties, executive director of the ACLU, Anthony D. Romero, and award-winning journalist Dina Temple-Raston, take a critical look at civil liberties in this country at a time when constitutional freedoms are in peril.
