Portable, potent, protein and other palatable types of energy bars. Here's the short list of the most effective and tasty amongst them. Globally we have less free time to sit down and enjoy a meal today than even just a few years ago. Leisure time, and lunch breaks are shrinking as entrepreneurs and employees are fighting fiercely to remain competitive and on top of their fields.
At the same time exercise and healthy eating are on the rise. Yesterdays snacks that consisted of empty synthetic carbs are declining. Hikers, bikers, other outdoors fans, and serious gym goers want to put quality food into their bodies.

Clif Bar
Clif bars are fairly unique due to their texture and consistency. Their ingredients are all-natural and organic. The flavors are good (my favorite is the chocolate brownie flavor) although fairly robust with a mild after taste.CLIF bars were founded by owner Gary Erickson, an avid biker and exercise enthusiast. He was dedicated towards providing an energy bar that tasted good after many blander snacks.

Luna Bar
The female consumer focused brand of Clif Bar company. The products are generally lower in protein and calories with a variety of different flavors. Luna Bar
Power Bar
This is the energy bar I enjoyed while going to college. A tastey and chewey bar with a yummy flavor. There are Pria bars focused, targeting women consumers, as well as protein bars amongst the fairly diverse product line. Power Bar Products
Snickers Marathon Bar
The marathon bars are a great tasting vitamin enriched alternative to the Snickers candy bar and related products. Out of all of the energy bars I regularly purchase, Snickers Marathon ranks among the best in taste, and strongest in nutrients. One minus is that Marathon bars aren't 100% "all-natural". Kashi
Kashi is known for their large variety of naturally sweeted bars made with seven whole grains, or whole grain cereal. From cereal bars, to granola, to fruit and grain bars Kashi has created an energy bar or snack for any need. Personally I haven't tried too many of their products, as they're usually lower in vitamins than alternative energy bars. Kashi Bars
Pure Protein
These bars are heavy on protein, but not quite as good tasting as the other bars and this is do the very low sugar per bar (a plus for many energy bar fans). I've tried them a couple of times but I think their target audience is dedicated body builders who need to get as much protein as possible in their diets. Pure Protein
