The reason why, let's hear it then

Hello world!! Whatsup!! Welcome to my page. The reason why I write this page is because it is something close to my live. Throughout my still very short life I have been through depression, subsequently mental challenges and eventually total burnout. In my experience all of the above was part of a much broader total picture, let's say they were parts of the puzzle or the checkpoint towards an ultimate life changing lesson. This sounds corny of course, or like something out of a movie or maybe a reborn Christian or something like that but this is really my story. Things you will find on this page are realizations, insights, views, perspectives, anything which comes up which helps me in live. Basically, there almost always AHA moments to me, and I want to share them with the world, with like minded person, or people just interesting in soul food, things that trigger your creative thought process.

I hope you will find my page, inspiring, liberating, stimulating, provoking or whatever it needs to mean to you. But at the end, all I want is to share my experiences, my lessons learned with you, my fellow brothers and sisters. By now means do I claim to know the truth,do I pretend to know what is good for you or anything like that,. This is my life, this is my view and my perspective of the truth, my perspective on life but I think we are always an inspiration to another and if I my life can be an inspiration for even one of you out there, then I have had a impact on the world, one small step on a global scale but maybe a giant step in someones life.

I welcome you to my life. Read on, and enjoy.

Feel good, it is all there is to it.

Why feeling good leads you to the things your really want

Hi there, this topic is about what I feel is our main motivation in life, or better yet SHOULD BE our main motivation and with that we start with what in my mind is both the problem as well as the solution.

When beginning this year I cracked and had a complete breakdown life seemed over for me. I could not see how life could improve. To give you an illustration of the state I was in, I couldn't sleep anymore and due to mal-nourishment, unending mental stress and subsequently getting stuck in the most primal of instincts: Fight or Flight modus I ended up in the emergency room with a massive panic attack. The next three months I moved back in with my parents, at first I didn't eat anymore but only drank water, didn't dare leave the house and was totally disconnected from any reality.
Basically that in short is the way things were. I am sure that there are people out there who have been through much much worse but pain is pain, and the degree of mental or spiritual pain is definitely not related the events leading up to it, it is in how someone experiences it.

But why am I telling you this, wasn't this post supposed to be about Feeling good, I hear you think. Yes, but feeling good and feeling bad are two sides of the same coin, they are Ying and Yang. To know one, you have to know the other, you wouldn't know what light was if you didn't know darkness. The reason I am telling you my experience is because when I was getting better, it felt like my soul came back to life. I started to remember sides of my character which I had forgotten, good things like being a vivid dreamer, a creative mind, and personality with many interest and facets but also simple things like being a warm and open person. Slowly I began to love life again, and started following my instinct, my feeling, only doing things that made me feel good. I started rediscovering hobbies I never really pursued, new dept to interests which I had as a child, I started to meet people, extraordinarily everyday people which each time seemed to pop up at the right time at the right place, like road markers, or guides on your path. Each day I felt more and more like a was coming back to the path laid out for me and I started becoming aware that if I followed my hearth, my instinct, the road would reveal itself gradually and it would be an adventure and life experience, but if I did the opposite, things would become though, and it would seem like everything was difficult, impossible, etc. Me being a believer in us humans being animals with instincts to help us in life, I began to think..can it be that the positive feelings we experience like: fun, stimulating, rewarding, meaningful, etc are actually build in instincts to guide is along the way, the leads us to fulfill our dreams? I realized that for the past 5 years I was living like a zomby, my brain had been dulled, and I had absolutely no creativity or inspiration. I had lost hope in living the life I wanted, I just didn't believe in it any more. Everything seemed though and without meaning, life in general was just not fun and certainly now something worthwhile at the moment. I had my share of misfortune and it seemed that there was no solution, no way I could get out, I just didn't see it anymore. Continuing on the train of thought about feeling good being a guide, I suddenly thought: could it have been that all this sh*t happened because I was on the wrong path all along. It certainly felt like I was swimming upstream uphill, I thought maybe I was not supposed to get there and this was the universe way of telling be to take another turn, to get of this train. It started to make more and more sense and I started to look around. Many people are doing what they think they are supposed to do and make up excuses for not living their dreams, not being able to do what they want. On the other hand I see people who follow their hearth, instinct. To me these people look different, they "feel" different, I can see it in the way the walk and talk, I can hear it in the words they choose, they seem more natural to me, like I see the person that fits the person. It all adds up.

So, to summarize. I think feeling good should be your main guide in life, it will lead you to happiness. I am not talking about the short term, forget about everything, good but about the real deal. My theory? If you do what ever makes you feel good, you'll want to do it as often as possible, thus you will improve and get better at it making it more fun, you will surround yourself with the people and things you really feel good about it which in turn will further motivate and stimulate you to do more of it. And in the end, this will turn out to be the way you make a living, your "job" will be your hobby, your life, not feeling as a must but more as a natural part of you, something you just do because you are you. You see, seems simple enough doesn't it, maybe it is maybe it isn't but I do think we should all pursue what ever makes us feel good.

For me this was a eyeopener, and realization which changed and is still changing my life. I am a very passionate person, and this is my drive my motivation, but this powerful passion is only at my disposal if I do something I believe in, I feel strongly about one way or the other. I feel lucky now that I was born with strong emotions but I'll tell you...a lot of people see these as something undesirable I have found out. Well for me it is very simple, because of my emotion I will always be steered towards happiness, I physically cannot do something which goes into what I really want. I did so for a long time and it nearly killed me. I am glad I went through everything I have been through, I am 29 and I feel that my time has finally come. In the last 6 months, I have come back from a total burnout, I have shed 20 kilos, I quited smoking, I have begun starting up multiple business, and I have quite my job. It is time for my story to continue, for my adventure to go to the next chapter. I have closed up all the olds and made room for the new. Bring on the Good Times, bring on the Good Feeling!.

And to you I say: Life your life, dream big, and be active but most of all feel good about everything!

Love you, Shorombo

Life emphasising stuff on Amazon

Knowledge is power, but use it wisely as a supplement to your core. Let you feelings guide you through the knowledge, not the way around.

There are a million of books on how to obtain the perfect life, to reach your dreams and a lot of them are really helpful but I feel that because of all the knowledge available we tend to forget what we really are after: Life. You do not what to read about it, you want to life it, right? Therefore it is important to find a balance. I feel that, we from cultures in which knowledge reigns and feelings are inferior to the mind, we tend to get stuck in the mind. We are not supposed to understand life, we are supposed to life it. So follow your feeling, read as much as you want, but don't force it, go with the flow.

I love Anthony Robbins because of its approach. He has created his own methods, his own believes by combining all kinds of theories, wisdom, etc. He is not a " one religion is the only truth" kind of man. Furthermore, his writing style is very vivid, with lost of life example and hands on experiences he shares, lastly all the knowledge which is in there is very applicable even if you do not do the assignments, you'll subconsciously will apply everything. It is fun to read, and eyeopening at times. I recommend you supplement this with following his blog or RSS feeds from Twitter, Facebook etc, it brings things to life.

How to make a visionboard, the fun way?

Get your imagination going.

Hi, a visionboard, what is a visionboard? If you ended up on this page you probably already have a pretty good idea but if not scroll down and check the link posted there to give you an idea.

A visionboard basically is a way to make your dreams and desires more tangible, more real, more visible. Basically, the reasoning behind it is very straight forward. The theory is that we have been given the power of imagination for a reason; it enables us to envision something that is not yet real. This way we can go and create whatever we can think up. Sound logical enough doesn't it? Well, a visionboard helps you create a more vivid image of what you really want, who you want to be, where you want to go, etc. The more vivid the image is, the stronger you feel about it and the more your subconscious will work toward achieving your goal. You are in a sense, tuning all your sense to everything which can lead to this goal. In example which might be a little bit closer to your reality is for example if you think about a particular car, and suddenly you see it all over the place. This happens because you are unconsciously looking for this car.
Okay, that is the basic 1-on-1 on visionboard. But what I really want to address is the way I apply this concept for myself. Maybe you have already noticed that I do not do everything exactly as it is written by other people, some might call me stubborn and I call it going my own way. I tend to take something, try it and think whether it works for me. Something that I run into again and again when coming across things that can potentially improve your life, is that they are mostly exercises of the mind. In my opinion we have been given instinct, not only to survive but to guide us and I also think that if we rationalize too much our instinct becomes clouded eventually causing us to lose our true way.
Therefore, I try to do these exercises, tricks, or whatever as much as I can on instinct, when and how I feel like it. The way I create a Visionboard is based on this believe. I use the internet as my source of images. I just go to Google, enter the first thing that comes in mind and start browsing through the images. Next feel which one is most adequate and evokes an emotional response. I'll do this as many times as I like and on as many subjects as I like. I basically do not have any rules, I'll let my mind guide me. When I have gathered enough images I put them together in a document and start sorting them out. Slowly you will see a pattern; furthermore you start to see which area in your life is the most important at that moment. Next, you can add some descriptions to it to give the images more of a punch. Text can also serve to allow the mind to see groups of images. I find that this way of making a visionboard is very intuitive, fun, and easy. You can do this anywhere you are working on the computer, you can do it at your job when you are in need of a break or inspiration and you will feel as if you are actively working to accomplish your dream.
Well, that is all that I wanted to share with you. I hope you found it helpful. I think this one of the most powerful tools there are. Our imagination is sometimes dulled by expectations which are not met, disappointments, or just daily routine but it is never gone it just needs to get reactivated. Feed your inspiration, dream big, because dreams are the very seeds of the reality you see around you daily.

The darkside of city life, city stress the killer who never sleeps.

How to cope with city stress? It is simple just take a step back. Time to go back to basics!!

City life, a beautiful manifestation of what mankind is capable of creating. A world of endless possibilities, variety and opportunity. Some cities are true pearls while others are mere function. But could it be that there is a downside to all of this? Of course there is but I am not talking about city poverty, unemployment, etc. I am talking about a far sinister downside.

City Stress, a fairly unknown phenomenon but in my mind a ruthless and effective sniper, a serial killer who comes and goes without anybody ever knowing it was there. Its very existence is not even acknowledged but if we take a step back and look at ourselves it is more than obvious...something has got us in our grasp. We are acting crazy, always in a hurry, forgetting our dreams while watching what new car the neighbor just bought. Eating our hearts out watching our tummies grow and wondering how come. Being too busy to take time for ourselves, for our children, feeling overwhelmed by all the choices, options and fun stuff that the fun eventually disappears. We all know some of this, we experience it but here comes the sad point.....a lot of us come to think of our stressy lives as normal. We do not even notice anymore that we are stressed out of our brains. We think that it is normal and we just have to cope with it. But don't we hear or feel the signals nature gives us, sure we do but there is a pill for everything right..as long as we can continue to "life" our lives it is all good. Being sick is an annoyance, a nuisance something that gets in our way. But nature always wins so watch out 'cause here comesthe burnout, the depression, the mental illness, dementia, and still we wonder why we are affected by these diseases. Step back, far enough to see....that we live frantic lives. We are many in tiny cities, we are millions running through the same streets. We are constantly in each other's faces, constantly dealing with each other, being influenced by each other, fighting for our space, our right to be, we fear each other, we tolerate each other, sometimes we do not even see each other. Know this, even if you are not fully aware of your surroundings, you unconscious is picking up signals through smell, sounds, touch, sight, feel and if you believe it...our heighten awareness..and all this signals get filtered constantly by our brains, hard work isn't it? And this is just day to day life, your route to work, or grocery shopping and then we go to work stressing our brains even more...and when we come home...we watch TV or surf the internet...another brain activity..Overload!!

Why am I sketching this picture? Because I lived through it, because I felt it, because I was labeled as being sick, I was the one oversensitive, I was the point of focus%u2026or at least I felt it like that. I was stuck in a devastating state of mind. But luckily I met the right people, I stuck to my road and it brought me back stronger than ever. Part of my salvation has been the fact that I am multi cultural, I have lived in various countries and I have experience different ways of life, I know that there are many ways to life a life, so I do not accept one way as being all there is. So unconciously I was always fighting the live I led but I didn't realize, I didn't read the signals. It took me a depression and a burnout to finally see what was going one. I am really grateful for my path so far and all that I have told you is of course just a small part of the whole, but what I lived through is what has made me, and I am proud of who I am, I am glad with who I am, I have amazed myself time and time again, and I finally woke up to see it. I share my story with you because maybe you can learn from my experience, maybe it helps you, maybe it doesn't but if you read this it means it did interest you. Think of it this way, people say you learn to experience, this is true but I doesn't have to be your own experience. I learn all the time because I talk and listen. So you heard me talk, and I hope you listened. To top it off, a little advice from yours truly. Here it comes!!

My advice to combat city stress....take a step back, stand still for a moment, take time to be alone, away from all external interference and come back to feeling yourself. Take all the time you need, do not say I'll take 5 minutes, one day, but tell yourself you'll take all the time you need, otherwise you end up stressing about relaxing. Balance is the key, with exercise of the brain goes exercise of the body, with indoor city life goes outdoor rural life. With rational thinking goes passionate living. But what really helped me was one simple advice: back to basics. Eat drink rest and exercise. First you get healthy than you get everything else. Without your health you will not be able to cope let alone enjoy the things you want or have. City life can be wonderful and amazing and don't get me wrong I love cities!! They give you tremendous energy, and stimulate you in a way few other environments can but I can also be a living hell. When the lather applies, just pull the brake and get off the train which is heading for a crash.

Love you all,

Yours truly, Shorombo

Balance is the key to feeling genuinely good

How to incorporate a different view on your life can alter everything!

Ying and Yang, fire and water. Different sides of the same coin

Balance is the key, without one the other can not exist. Without darkness we wouldn't know light. Start thinking about balance. When you do, it starts to make sense. You will know why you feel the way you feel after a day at the office. You will see the logic in getting up and doing some exercise after sitting 8 hours at your desk. You will feel why going outside is the thing to do when having been inside for most of the day. You will understand why after working the brain the whole day it feels good doing something the with body. You'll see the world in a different picture. Suddenly rain is a welcome change to sun because rain cleanses, refreshes and replenishes so that the Sun can revitalize life.

Balance is logical, and the body or nature always strives towards balance. Balance is like the nill state of the universe, the starting and ending point of the nature. Nature ALWAYS strive toward balance. Therefore, you always feel the signals of being out of balance but if you ignore them, if you decide to disregard them, nature will not only send stronger signals, eventually nature will leave you no choice but to listen. Unfortenately a lot of us have been conditioned to ignore the signals; feeling depleted is normal, feeling stressed is an everyday thing, having a headache, take a pill, you skins starts to wear out, put moisturizer on it. You will be amazed how much signals you ignore every signal day, you might even discover that your mind has turned off some signals because they were becoming inconvenient. Find your balance and I promise your life will be some much easier, so much more fun, it will make so much more sense. You'll feel energized like nothing before, you discover talents you didn't know you had. Most of us are just only using a fraction of what they can. Our mind, body and soul are capable of tremendous feats, achievements we are witness of every day but not always aware of. Take a look around you, take a look at your own life, or maybe the neighbors or colleague, seek someone who inspires you and become aware of the fact that....YOU CAN DO ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING....if you only wish to.

I'll leave you to it, life is calling!!

Jealousy and inspiration, how they are one and the same..only different

Inspire and be inspired

The following is an answer to the below facebook post I came across:

"Never hate people who are jealous of you, but respect their jealousy because they're the ones who think that you're better than them." -Tico Marlin.

So true and so difficult to cope with at times. But he is right right right. And you know what...jealousy is a natural emotion, it comes from wanting the same or more and therefore it is a powerful motivational tool. BUT I try to use its little sister emotion....inspiration..it allows me to bend jealousy of others into inspiration too, it allows me to enjoy everyones growth and progress, we are all goo! And I am happy you do what you do, you have what you have and are who you are...you inspire me, you show me that everything is possible, that sky is the limit. You see, it is this kind of inspiration which creates greatness, which allows you to excel and go beyond what you ever dreamt of. Cheers, salut, y adios keep inspiring!
