Insight into The Vortex Phenomenon

Discover the phenomena of energy vortices. Machu Picchu, Sedona, and other places are famed to be hot spots for a type of electromagnet subterranean current which may be either positively or negatively charged. Learn why many have claimed healings, visions, and epiphanies of all kinds when caught within the esoteric confines of vortex activity.

The Sedona Vortex

Travel Yields Discovery

My 2009 visit to Sedona Arizona has sparked an interest in the phenomena of energy vortices. Sedona is famed to be a hot spot for a type of electromagnet subterranean current which may be either positively or negatively charged. These are most commonly known as "lay lines". It may or may not affect people with energy in physical, emotional, spiritual, or even psychic ways. Many have claimed healings, visions, and epiphanies of all kinds when caught within the esoteric confines of vortex activity.

Several philosophies abound as to the powers felt or gained from a vortex. In Sedona the two most prevalent philosophies are the New Age and the traditional viewpoint of the Hopi Indian who is indigenous to the area. The New Age teachings basically teach certain energies are primarily masculine while others are feminine. The Hopi teachings are more concerned with the aspect of man's relationship with the earth and these vortices are called "power places".

The Sedona power places are within a 100 mile range that stretches from Scottsdale to Sedona. Besides the subterranean magnetic field, this radial range is covered with red rock containing high concentrations of iron, and this area is considered to be a highly positively charged place. Because of this, many are attracted to Sedona that have creative and intellectual tendencies. And many spiritualists make their home there.

Sedona was reportedly put on the map in 1987 with the publication of a book by psychic Page Bryant explaining the concept of the energy vortex in detail. Since then, people have been flocking to Sedona (as well as the other places mentioned) in droves. Sedona Arizona is considered a mecca to spiritualists and spiritual seekers, now in annual numbers which surpass those of Virginia Beach.

Of the Mayan Calendar Age

Is this the end of the world? The extinction of humanity? Is this the beginning of greater enlightenment? Is it just another year full of doomsday hype? Countdown and find out.

Countdown to End of the Mayan Calendar

End of the Mayan Calendar: December 21, 2012

The End of the Mayan Calendar

Machu Picchu 2012

With the end of the Mayan Calendar approaching, set for December 21, 2012, Machu Picchu is the hub of interest. Steeped in Mayan history, it's famous for mystical vortex activity.

Tours are currently filling as a historical exodus for Machu Picchu is planned now throughout the year's end for this Mayan Vortex site. Why are so many drawn to this mystical place at this time?

Many speculations and doomsday prophecies abound concerning the Mayan Calendar event this year. The doomsday predictions are falling to the wayside by most toward a more optimistic view. Spiritually minded people are calling this time the end of an era in human evolution. They believe that this is a time of spiritual ascension and that the human race will reach a gestalt (or transcendant leap) in evolution. Some theories are that those adults who are prepared and children born after the year's end will develop telepathic abilities, wisdom, and new knowledge concerning the human condition. Proponents of these theories believe that the current problems of humanity like war and poverty will dissolve as a more evolved humanity takes control of the earth.

The conditions of polarity shifts, global warming, and assaults on the earth by meteors are still a concern by many, but not in the catastrophic aspects of extinction as predicted earlier. Many believe these problems are symptomatic of current human atrocities that will dissolve after this year. They believe that although upheaval on a global scale is eminent, a tremendous amount of the population will survive in its evolved state to rebuild the earth and usher in a new age of kinder existence with greater enlightenment.

Vortex Activity Around the Globe

South America, Bermuda Triangle, and the UK:

Other power places in this world are the ancient Inca ruins of Machu Picchu in what is now Peru, Glastonbury of the UK, fabled to be the location of the Holy Grail and burial place of King Arthur, Stonehenge, and the Bermuda Triangle. All these locations are reported to be positively charged vortex sites except for the Bermuda Triangle which is highly believed to be negatively charged.

Besides these high energy places, it's believed that the lay lines that emanate from these spots stretch forth like rays from the sun and power other places in every direction. This is called an energy convergence. These particular power places mentioned are like the sun spots, that is the points from which many rays find their source.

So anywhere a person lives, he might find some sort of vortex activity if he theoretically finds himself on a point on a ray emerging from a certain power place. If this idea seems interesting, any nature hike could possibly bring forth energies, healings, and epiphanies if someone found himself in the right place at the right time.

Is it Happening or Hype?

The Truth About The Energy Vortex

Yes, I visited a vortex and experienced heightened emotion and was able to work through past physical trauma as well as emotional issues. I tried to look at the experience playfully and with an open mind. In truth, I can't say for sure a vortex healed me. Perhaps it was old-fashioned sunshine, fresh air, nature hikes, and fun. I gather that experiences in this place are as varied in interpretation as the people who find their way to this unusual setting. One thing's for sure, Sedona Arizona is like no other place on earth. My vacation there was definitely a gift from above.
