If I had to do over again, I would find an online internet marketing mentor, tutor, or coach to teach me how and why I needed to do certain things during my very first month.

For example, would you attempt to teach yourself how to fly a helicopter, or would you do some research an find an experienced helicopter pilot to teach you how to get started to learn to fly a helicopter.

There are certain steps you need to complete before you take off on your first solo flight in a helicopter, likewise there are specific steps you must take before you launch your first online website business too.

How can you possibly know what you don't know yet?

An experienced internet marketing mentor will teach you how and why to focus on these various pieces, that must flow together in order to start creating profits online.

Having a great looking website may be very satisfying to you, after you learned how to create it, but if it does not suit the purpose you created it for, you will not generate profits from it.

How many people do you know who have taught themselves a second language all by themselves?

You may be able to learn the language, the grammar, the vocabulary, and sentence structure, but when you attempt to speak it, it is obvious to everyone that it is not your mother tongue - nobody had taught or mentored you on how the people actually speak their primary language - they simply say things differently, often there is no direct translation for the expression, so you cannot possibly learn it by yourself.

It takes a mentor network of schools, books, courses, teachers in group settings, but most importantly somebody you trust and feel safe with asking your "dumb" questions - only "dumb" because you have no idea what the "smart" question might be in any language - you simply do not know what you do not know!

You need a personal mentor to teach you their life long experience in how their language is spoken, and be able to communicate with you in your mother language too. You see, no matter how fluently somebody speaks their own language, that does not make them a personal mentor if they can not communicate with you and teach you in a language you understand too.

So not that much unlike the African proverb - "It takes a village to raise a child", it takes an online mentor network to raise an internet marketer to profits - you need all the education, and teaching you can get, but if the missing piece is a personal internet marketing mentor, it will be obvious to everyone that internet marketing is not your first language of business.
