Hotel English Books
There are more than twenty books in the Language Express Hospitality English Program. There are between 1 and 3 books for each hotel department. Each book contains ten lessons, and each lesson is based around a skill, or requirement of the job. The units in each book follow a job process flow. So they teach English related directly to job skills. For example Food & Beverage Book 1, takes staff through a standard sequence of service beginning with greeting and seating the guest through to taking orders and recommending dishes, before finishing with settling the bill and booking a revisit.
All books are written in English, and designed to be taught by native English speakers. There are full Thai translations in the back of each book to make learning easy. And translations can be arranged in other languages, including: Mandarin, Japanese, French, Spanish, Arabic and Vietnamese.
Books in the program cover the following departments:
'Food & Beverage'
'Front Office'
'Housekeeping'
'Hotel Engineers'
'Bellboys & Drivers'
'Spa Managers & Therapists'
'Hotel Accountants'
In addition "May I Ask" is a 4 book series designed to teach practical small talk skills to staff across all departments, so they can make polite, appropriate conversation with guests.
The books were co-authored by Michael Ratcliff and Philippe Vercauteren . Michael has over twenty years experience in delivering language training, while Phillipe has decades of experience managing and training hotel staff in Europe and Asia.
