Enki Bilal is one of my favorite french graphic novelist. His art and style are very distinctive.

Enki (Enes) Bilal short biography 

Born in Belgrade (Yugoslavia) in 1951, he moved to Paris at age 10.
He went to the Beaux-Arts for a short while, work for Pilote (a well know magazine publication editing graphic novelists). This is were he published his firt short story in 1972. This is were he also met one of his best collaborator, Pierre Christin, a well known scenarist.

Over the years Bilal not only published many graphic novels, he also produced films and art exhibitions (in Tokio, Paris, Naples).

La croisières des oubliés (1975). Scenario: from Pierre Christin. 2 stories

L'appel des étoiles (1975): first edition (and title) of "Le bol maudit". His first solo work, featuring short stories written and drawn by Bilal between 1971 and 1974.

Le vaisseau de Pierre (1976). Scenario: from Pierre Christin.

La ville qui n'existait pas (1977). Scenario: from Pierre Christin.

Mémoires d'outre-espace (1978)

Exterminateur 17 (1979): first edition. In 2002 another version came out with different colors and some minor images improvements. Scenario: from Jean-Pierre Dionnet.

Les Phalanges de l'Ordre Noir (1979). Scenario: from Pierre Christin.
