Welcome to my world, -where imaginations run wild and wildflowers dance on a gentle breeze.

I am slightly obsessed with faeries, elves and gnomes, hence the name: EnslavedbyFaeries. My love for fairies started as a young child with a healthy imagination. As an adult, my fascination with faeries has grown even deeper. Our home is plastered with fairy art and books which I love to share with my daughters who also love these tiny winged creatures. I joke that I am enslaved by faeries but honestly, it is my husband who is truly enslaved in our faery filled home.

You Will Only See a Fairy if You Truly Believe They Exist with Your Whole Heart

Fairies are shy of humans and hide beneath the leaves and flowers in the forest but if you tread lightly you never know what you will find. The best places to find fairies are in mushroom circles but this can be dangerous for humans. Baby fairies are often found near Milkweed pods while older fairies gather acorns and berries.

Children will find so much joy in using mother natures treasures as building blocks for little fairy houses. Their imaginations will blossom with this activity!! Fairies often dance and rejoice in circles in the grass which are called fairy rings. Fairy rings spell danger for the human passerby who can be lured into the ring by the wild enchantment of the fairy music. If a human steps into their circle and joins in the wild prancing it could lead to captivity forever in the fairy world. It may only seem to last minutes or hours but the enslavement would, in fact, be seven years or longer. The captive human may be rescued by a friend who reaches in the ring, without stepping into the circle, and pulls the dancer to freedom.

What is Your Fairy Name?

This is really fun, -if you have kids they will love this site that tells you what your name would be if you were a fairy. Just enter your first and last name and it will be translated into fairy!!

I used this site when my daughter had a fairy party and entered all the guests names before the party. I used their fairy names on the invitations and made them all necklaces with their fairy names printed on them. During the party they were only allowed to use their fairy names. They LoVeD this idea and were in character all afternoon. Enjoy!

It is positively dangerous to approach a fairy because their behavior is inherently bad and no amount of kindness or wooing will mellow them. Careful handling and respect in fairy dealings are of great importance.

Protection Against Troublesome Fairies

Fairies are quite mischeivious and are well known for their annoyances which include the dissappearance of small objects. Now you know where all your missing socks have dissapeared to! These fairies are harmless, although they enjoy a little good-humored mischief. Another small irritation caused by fairies is the tangles in your hair or "elf-locks". Here are some things that will protect you from troublesome faeries.
