Don't make the mistake of thinking this is a typical so-called conference that's really just a pitchfest. It's not.

Here, attendees will co-mingle with like-minded people who are getting vision and direction for pursuing their inner "entrepreneur."

What's really valuable about a conference like this, is that you will be exposed to good mentors. Their instruction can cut your learning curve, and can enable you to go from clueless to productive in a reasonable amount of time.

In this way, it almost becomes like a trade school kind of situation; where you get concentrated learning of specific skills.

AS you progress, you learn how to monetize those skills and how to also stretch your earning power with every new knowledge stream you acquire. That's when the "instruction" really pays off.

If you think about what's happening now, internet-based programs have a lot of value---not so much from costing less to learn something, but from the perspective that once you learn a lot of those skills, they are valued in today's emerging consumer-demand economy where everyday people control the content and interaction with companies; and consumers can define and dictate what is valued and what is not.

The turning point for me, was a mindset shift from thinking that a college degree was the answer to higher earning power---to an entrepreneurial mindset that understands the value of learning to be a creator of income streams versus a "worker for set income."

I became fascinated with everything about being an entrepreneur. How this country was founded on it. Those methods.

And I discovered that not everyone thinks this way. So conferences like this one attract like-minded folks. But the real clincher for me, is the part about bringing youth to hear and be exposed to this world. B/C I really believe that there are entrepreneurial-minded kids running around, who may have no clue what to do with what they feel inside, unless they go to a conference like this and hear and see what is possible.

If you're like me, you probably didn't grow up with a "success example;" or like Anthony Robbins says, "find someone who's doing what you want to do, and then model them. Yeah right!

There were no models like that around me.

So long story short, this is what led me to advocate the whole "learn from a mentor" --type thinking. B/C I don't have years to go back to school to learn skills that pay in today's economy.

So it was a combination of trying to help myself, and the availability of these programs or systems for young people to pursure their "callings," that make me a fan of entrepreneurial instruction.
