Entrepreneurial Publishing

Entrepreneurial publishing is a logical extension of book publishing. For authors whose purpose for writing a book is to gain credibility as an expert by publishing a book, the concept of moving from book to entrepreneurial publishing is a logical step.

This new field will provide entrepreneurial authors with experts in publishing who also understand what it takes to build a business around your book.

The Entrepreneurial published books will be no different than any other print book except that its purpose will be to build a successful business providing products and services built on the reputation of the author.

The entrepreneurial model of authoring and publishing is a very new concept in the industry. Entrepreneurial authoring is based on two concepts.

How Entrepreneurial Publishing Works

The entrepreneurial publisher works WITH the entrepreneurial author not FOR the author. It is imperative in a book published for entrepreneurial purposes that information not normally found in "best-sellers" be included about the author, one's company or business, and the products/services offered.

The marketing of such entrepreneurial books will also be different from a traditionally published book.

In this model, authors will retain all rights to the book. The publisher is there to support the author and one's business plan.

Entrepreneruial Publishing Model - Concept 1

The first concept of entrepreneurial publishing is the introduction and world-wide acceptance of the eBook as a legitimate source of information.

It was born of the technology of the Internet and web designing combined with the acceptance of the "friendly letter" non-academic style of writing as a legitimate method of communication.

Entrepreneurial Publishing Model - Concept 2

The second concept of entrepreneurial publishing is the instant access to a New York Publisher because of the pre-marketing that has already been accomplished with your finished manuscript.

Instant access to a publisher means you will forgo the average 6 year wait to get a publisher to notice you.

Entrepreneurial Publishing - PRO

  • Author retains rights to book with higher royalties of 20%.
  • Access to same distribution channels (such as Amazon and Ingram) as the traditional publishing model.
  • Because the emphasis is on building a business around the book and on sales and marketing, the author establishes a high degree of credibility with readers.
  • Also because of the emphasis on building a strong business around the book, the author establishes greater credibility with the media.
  • With the unique model of writing the book first and then writing it, there are a wealth of other opportunities that the author can take advantage of (teleseminars, coaching etc.).

Entrepreneurial Publishing - CON

  • Author has to make an investment to get their book published.
  • Book might not be accepted by the publisher.
  • You must spend time to have a business plan built around it to even to be considered.
  • Since your success is the publisher's success, you must also have an understanding of how to build a business for the manuscript to be accepted.
  • The work needed to find a publisher who will take a chance on you and your book may better be spent making money and building a business at least initially.
  • The author is still ultimately required to do the marketing of the book even with the smaller profit margins, although the author may possibly have received money "up front" in the form of an advance

The Entrepreneurial Author Has A Powerful Story

As an entrepreneurial author, you have a powerful story to tell that will help thousands and thousands of people around the world solve their problems and improve their lives. Don't let your dream of authoring wither and die.
